700 W Houston San Antonio, Texas 78207 210.223.4707 dailybreadministries.org Vision: To continue serving the San Antonio hungry and poor at a new warehouse location, providing enhanced food re-distribution services to a larger, more diverse population and geographical area. Programs:
Food Distribution- Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning, DBM’s volunteers come together to sort bread, pastries, canned goods, produce, and other items into boxes and load them onto partner ministries’ trucks and vans following a prayer of thanksgiving.
Kids Against Hunger- Daily Bread Ministries is a distribution partner for Kids Against Hunger, a humanitarian food organization that delivers pre-packaged food to starving children around the world. DBM assembles, packages, and ships the food product specially formulated to meet the daily nutritional needs of a starving child.
2nd Blessing Thrift Shop- Located on Blanco Road near Fresno and I-10, this thrift shop offers bargains galore and proceeds benefit DBM.
Feeding mouths and nourishing spirits in the San Antonio area since 1997. History: In 1996, Seth Kuehn saw a need. He saw thousands of pounds of perfectly good food being wasted daily in our city’s restaurants, grocery stores, wholesale suppliers, and other food companies. He thought about how many hungry San Antonio souls that food could feed. So Seth founded Daily Bread Ministries to rescue food items that would otherwise go to waste and disburse them to churches and compassion organizations. These organizations then distribute the food to hungry and needy people in their local areas. Statistics:
DBM operates on a small budget, meaning that for every $1 you donate, we can distribute $20 worth of food!
With only 12 full-time staffers, DBM utilizes the help of over 200 volunteers.
Over the last four years, DBM has distributed over 20 million pounds of rescued food!
