Trim the Dark Background Blocks and the Light Background Blocks to 9” x 9”.

Make twenty Dark Background Blocks.

Make sixteen Light Background Blocks.

Make thirty-six total.

With right sides facing, layer a Dark Background Unit with a Light Pie Unit. Match centers and pin.

With the Pie Section on the bottom, stitch ¼” away from the edge of the Dark Background Unit. Be careful when stretching the bias edges.

Dark Background Block should measure 9 1/2” x 9 1/2”.

Make twenty Dark Background Blocks.

You will not use all of the Light Pie Units.

Make fourteen. Make six.

With right sides facing, layer a Light Background Unit with a Dark Pie Unit. Match centers and pin.
