Ludowici Screen Range

Page 11: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

•Used for applications such as sizing, separation and dewatering•Used in the coal, gravel, sand and mineral industries•Available in single, double and triple deck configuration•Various screen panels options •(poly, wedge wire, plate)•Single or Dual exciter 900-980RPM

BRU Horizontal Screens

Page 12: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

BRU Banana Screens

•Used for applications such as sizing, separation & media recovery

•Various screen panels options (poly, wedge wire, plate)

•Size up to 4.2m wide x 9.15m long

•Increased capacity (by 50%) due to early stratification & reduced bed depth

•High G Force provided for increased capacity

Page 13: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

• Anti-abrasion, rubber lined cross beams• Cross beams made from UC section, no bolt holes ensuring no

liquid can enter• Stringers are bolted not welded onto brackets allowing quick

replacement• All welded components are fully stress relieved• Feedbox is designed to be an integral part of the screen,

eliminating the ‘cantilever’ effect of a bolt-on feed box

Benefits of BRU Screens

Page 14: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

VSW High Frequency Screens

•Used for applications such as dewatering of fine coal or mineral ores

•Inclined linear motion

•Capacity up to 60 - 70tph of fine material

•Suitable to use poly or wedge wire panels

•Operates at high frequency of approx 1430RPM

Page 15: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

UHS Medium to High Frequency Dewatering Screens

•Used for applications such as dewatering of fine coal, trash removal, loaded carbon recovery and general slurry process

•Horizontal linear motion

•Can be supplied at medium or high frequency (970RPM or 1430RPM)

Page 16: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

•Quietest performance•Clip-on deck system with no sub-frame•Fully Huck-bolted construction•Screens are lighter which reduces the support steelwork and electrical supply required

LTV Screens

Page 17: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

•CA – standard duty circular motion screens using spring loaded counterweights instead of motors

•CB – heavy duty circular motion screens which are used in harder applications such as hard rock and use spring loaded counterweight mechanisms rather than motors

Circular Motion Screens

Page 18: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

•Electro-mechanical drive with out-of-balance motors which are self-synchronising to provide linear motion

•Nominally 10mm stroke which prevents build-up of material on the feeder pan

•Can be foot mounted or cable suspended

UF Pan Feeders

Page 19: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

•Driven by ‘HE’ series gearboxes from our BRU screen range

•Counter-rotating flywheels provide linear motion

•Grizzly bars manufactured to client specifications from high wear resistant materials such as Bisalloy 500 (quenched and tempered steel) or Domite capping (a laminated, abrasion resistant wear product at 200 BHN)

Mining and Quarrying

Screen Types Available•Modern mining and quarrying screens use a variety of materials and fastening methods in their plant screens:•Crimped wire ModularProfile [Vee, wedge] wire Cross TensionedPolyurethane BoltedRubberMetal Plate and Castings

Ludowici supplies all of the above, in all combinations:a ‘One Stop Screen Shop’

Page 29: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Screen Types

Crimped Wire – Cross Tensioned

•Staple product for the quarrying industry

•Excellent open area, robust construction

•Apertures from 2 to 100 mm available,

in varying wire gauges

‘Next Generation’ Crimped Wire Screens

As part of Ludowici ongoing commitment to

continuous improvement for industry,

second, third and fourth generation wire

screen mats have been designed and

developed

‘Next Generation’ Crimped Wire Screens

- Continued

•‘Agavibe’ – Second generation, non blinding

wire screen mat.

•‘Polyvibe’ – third generation, in flow wire

replaced with polyurethane

Page 32: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Screen Media Types

Media Type – Wedge Wire [aka Profile Wire]:•Stainless steel wire, 304 and 316 typ•Excellent open area •High efficiency of operating screens•Used mostly for fine apertures [< 1mm typ]•Rigid, inflexible. Modular or clamped.

Page 33: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Polyurethane Modular System Advantages

• Versatility of polyurethane permits design of tailor made, fit for purpose applications for any unique site specific conditions.

• Exotic apertures, exotic polymers, special panel designs and attachments impossible to incorporate with any other media or fixture methods are possible.

• Overall, significantly cheaper total cost of screening than metallic media [in terms of $ / tonne]

Page 34: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Polyurethane Modular Systems - General

• Modular screening systems have enjoyed much success in the mining industry for the last decade.

• Large, cumbersome, cross tensioned steel wire screen mats have been replaced with smaller, easier to install panels made from steel reinforced abrasion resistant polyurethane.

Page 35: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Polyurethane Modular System Advantages

• Installation requires no special skills or tools• Panels are lighter and smaller, therefore faster

and safer to install. • Polyurethane’s abrasion resistance gives at least

5 - 7 times increase in wear life over crimped wire• Better plant availability and utilisation• Flat deck gives better distribution of feed than

cross tension, better use of screen deck, better screening

Page 36: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Modular Systems - General

• Panels are usually 2’x1’ or 1’x1’• Made from polyurethane with

internal steel reinforcement• Usually use interference fit type

locking, either pins or rails.

Modular Systems – Ludowici’ patented Ludodeck PIPO Two

• An intermediate rail type system• Two components, panel and the

rail [other systems have more components]

• Panels have female sockets, lock onto the rail male

• Remove via mallet / screwdriver

Page 39: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Modular Systems – Ludodeck PIPO Two Advantages

• Once rail installed, Ludodeck PIPO Two has less consumable components than other systems[no pins to carry stock or get lost in sumps].

• Poly – Poly grip, stronger than pin type systems. Robust design panels

• Screen steel is protected, holes don’t get ‘out of round’

Page 40: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Modular Systems – Ludodeck PIPO Two [Panel Removal]

• Once the intermediate rail is installed, panel removal requires no special skills, training or tools

• Able to be undertaken by any site personnel

• Remove via mallet and screwdriver

Page 41: Day 2 Panel 1 Speaker 1 David

Modular Systems – Ludodeck PIPO Two[Panel Replacement]

• As before, once the intermediate rail

is installed, panel installation is able

to be undertaken by any site

personnel

• Once the rail is cleaned, install via

mallet
