Leh Mr. Dorje Motup, Chief Executive

Counsellor of Ladakh started the yatra

in Leh. Prabhat Pheri was initiated

locals, NCC cadets and school children

who also pledged to eat healthy, eat

safe and eat fortified. Despite the

chilling weather, people were excited

to participate in the yatra. Activation

points were set up to create

awareness. Restaurants and Tea Stall

Association and NCC, Leh became Eat

Right Champions to take the cause

forward.

Track 2 (Panaji-

Delhi)

Panaji A pre-launch of the yatra was held in

Mumbai attended and inaugurated by

Sh. Girish Bapat, Minister of Food and

Drugs Administration and Dr. Pallavi

Darade, Commissioner, FDA through a

curtain raiser. Panaji is situated in the

west coast of India and is the capital of

Goa. Day 1 began with the Prabhat

Pheri at Kala Academy from Panaji to

Samathwadi which saw participation

from 200 people. Street food vendors,

Miramar beach, Panaji, Goa were

educated about safe food. Stop overs

are as follows: IHM College, Purvorim,

Peddem (Mumbai-Goa Highway),

Lunch at Govt. College (Pernem),

Patradevi (Goa-Maharashtra border),

Insuli village, Govt. School,

Sawantwadi. Final stop-over at

Sawantwadi.

The Track 3 saw a formal inauguration

by Hon’ble Minister of Health, Smt. K.

K. Shailja. in the presence of P.

Muthumaran, Director, FSSAI on the

inauguration of Swasth Bharat Yatra

and school children. NCC cadets and

locals participated in Prabhat pheri.

IMA, Trivandrum conducted safe food

initiative at Christ Nagar School,

Nandankodhe on the occasion of World

Food Day. On the same day, a

presentation of Adulteration Tests and

Catering Training Session were

conducted at Rajdhani Hotel

Management College, TVM. Later, in

the evening SBY was launched along

with several cultural activities and

shows.

Puducherry Prabhat Pheri was initiated from

Mahatma Gandhi statue, beach road by

Mr. shri Kumar chowdhary Abhijeet

with about 300 participants from

Rotary, NCC, NSS, Marico. City

activation was done at Petite seminarie

Higher Secondary School with 100

school children. Second activation at

Anna statue market with around 250

participants. Third activation at Beach

Delhi)

Ranchi Prabhat pheri started in Ranchi in the

presence of Dr. Garima, FSSAI with

participation from 600 students

including NCC cadets. SBY Inaugural

Programme at AstroTurf Hockey

Stadium, Morahabadi, Ranchi by Chief

Guest, Health Minister, Jharkhand, Sh.

Ram Chandra Chandravanshi. He

congratulated the NCC Cadets. Also

present was Sh. Ram Tahal Chaudhary,

MP, Ranchi. IMA Ranchi, Tata Trusts

and ICC Keventers were important

partners. More than 600 persons

including students , NCC Cadets,

volunteers, local media, local admin

participated in the function.

Agartala The Prabhat pheri on Day 1 of SBY was

flagged off by Shri. Lokam Mangha,

Assistant Food Controller, Govt of

Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Shailesh K

Yadav, Mission Director, NHM and

Municipal Commissioner, Agartala and

Dr. SK Chakma, Director Preventive

Medicine and Family Welfare.

Activation point near Pooja Pandal in

Agartala to create awareness on food

hygiene and food.
