David Veit Premier Pet Photography Wednesday, September 25, 2019
“I am the kinda
guy who quits
his job as a
banker to pur-
sue a career
playing with
dogs.
My clients adore their pets and my particular
style of portraiture.
As the premier pet photography boutique in
Southern California, I document and preserve
memories of
your loved
ones. Some
call me an
"Environmen-
tal Photogra-
pher" be-
cause the location often plays a part in the story-
telling. Sometimes I use a studio. An ability to
leverage an animal training background, an in-
born sense of artistry, decades of photography
experience, monumental patience and a
strategic mindset
all contribute to
your amazing
and playfully en-
gaging portrait.
I love playing with animals (even "hard cases"
and "the badly behaved") and pets get that, so
their expressions are happy and engaged. I've
had many pets of different species in my lifetime
(cats, dogs, a parrot, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish,
snakes and even a turtle). My family also has a
rich photography history.”

President’s Corner
by Sandy Zelasko
The New Venue!
Here is a link to Google Maps https://bit.ly/2lwVmho where you can find directions from your loca-tion. The new location is 6.2 miles slightly northeast of our current meeting place. We did our best to find a venue which did not disrupt our members’ travel routes too much. Please review the map at your leisure and familiarize yourself.
There are no changes to our schedule. We will continue to start the meetings at 6:30 PM and we must vacate the building by 9:00 PM.
Saying goodbye to the Ecke Building after 30+ years of memories will be sad (yes, there are a cou-ple members who have been with us for those 30 years). However, I am looking forward to a new and exciting year with new and exciting events planned for NCPS.
Proudly representing NCPS, Sandy Zelasko
Forgive the interruption! Your President’s Corner has been hijacked to bring you information on NCPS’s new 2020 meeting venue. Here are the details …
Beginning with the January 22, 2020, general meeting, the membership will gather at the Tri-City Wellness & Fitness Center, 6250 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92009 (seen below). Upon en-tering the main door (on the El Camino side) you will immediately see the Conference Room on your right. Once we have determined the room set up, you will be notified about which door to use to enter.

SEPTEMBER PHOTO SHOOT San Diego Walkabout by Dan Nougier
Date: Sunday, September 15, 2019 Time: 9:00 a.m. to Noon Location: 1492 N. Harbor Dr., San Diego
Put on your walkin’ shoes for a morning of
street photography in beautiful downtown
San Diego. We’ll meet in front of the Star of
India at 9:00 a.m. From there we’ll walk
along the harbor, past the Convention Center, across the bridge to the city library, and thru the Gas
Lamp District back to our starting point. Parking on the street most places is free on Sundays (if you
can find a spot). Or park at one of the Green Line Trolley stops, like the old Qualcomm Stadium or Old
Town, and ride the trolley into town. The walk will be around 3 to 4 miles distance so I suggest you
travel light (1 to 2 lenses, no tripod). Call me if you arrive later. For any questions contact Dan Nougier
at [email protected] or cell 619-884-1359.
Patricia Williams’ first solo photography show, ‘Study the Sky for Clues’ opened at Copa Vida Carmel Valley on September 7, 2019. NCPS friends can view her show until November.
Patricia is also a member of Women in Creative Pho-tography and has exhibited her work in competitions and group shows at the San Diego County Fair and Encinitas Branch Library.
In Ms. Williams’ current work, she explores the mysteri-ous and ambiguous qualities of everyday life and the difference between lived and recollected experience.
In addition to the eight photographs on display, eight small pieces of accompanying title art play with words, paper and typography in ways that evoke the directness of the Japanese poetic form haiku.

AUGUST PHOTO SHOOT FOLLOW-UP ‘Vista Rod Run’ by Dan Nougier
Vista village was already packed full of cars by the time we arrived at 9:00. If you had a favorite
car from the 50’s or 60’s, it was there, not to mention the many hot rods. Also there was a story to
go along with each car if you took the time to chat with the owner. Weather was a bit warm, but the
sun just made all that chrome and polish shine that much brighter. To escape the heat we were
forced to stop in the Belching Beaver Brewery for lunch before we left. If you love old cars, or just
enjoy searching out interesting macro shots, this was a perfect morning.
