Newspaper In Education
Students Scan the Newspaper
for Articles pertaining to Agriculture or the
Environment. They are then given the Assignment to take
those Articles, Summarize them and Present them to the Class in a Commercial or TV spot in such a way that the Class will want to read the
Article for Themselves.
All props are Made out of Newspaper.

Rather than a Commercial, this group
chose to do a Newscast. Notice the
fine Newspaper
microphones.
Now we get the leftovers ready to be put to good use.
Compost Pile Prep For Additional Waste
By This Point Students Have Learned About Forestry, Tree Farming and
Reforestation. They realize that Recycling by
Composting returns the Newspaper to
the Earth from where it Originally Started its Journey.
This is also a Hands On Experience To
make them aware How they can Renew the
Soil and Be Stewards of the Land through
Composting and Vermicomposting with
Newspaper.
After it is Moistened,
The pile Will be turned
Again.
A Very Special Class Doing a very
Special Job.
These Paper pots will be used to Start Seed or Propagate cuttings and then will be planted in the Ground with the Plant so as not to Disturb
the Root system.
These Students Learn that they Are being Good Stewards Of the Land by Doing this Small Task.
Last But not Least.
Lasagna Gardening requires Layers of Newspaper on the Bottom to keep Weeds from growing up Into Seedbeds.
Shredded Newspaper has Already been Used in the Compost that has been
Layered to place the seed Potatoes and Garlic bulbs
