Who are they?◦ Daughter are a European indie folk band who formed in 2010. Daughter are made

up of three members:

• Elena Tonra- vocals, guitar, bass guitar

• Igor Haefeli- guitar

• Remi Aguillella- drums, percussion

◦ They have released two EP’s and one album, and are currently signed to Glassnote (America) and 4AD (Europe/UK).

◦ Their first four track EP was called His Young Heart which was self released in June 2011. It was re-released by Glassnotes in 2012 who pressed it onto vinyl and made it available to be downloaded. The cover is an old family photo of the singer Elena Tonra.

◦ Their second four track EP was called The Wild Youth and it was self released in October 2011.

◦ Their debut album which was released under 4AD in March 2013 is called If You Leave. It reached Number 16 in the UK album chart and number 4 in the UK indie chart.

I like how the album covers on their EP’s are childhood pictures which makes it unique and personal to them. However, their album cover for their album is my favourite. I like the dark, monotone colours and the merging of 2 images. The artists name and album name stand out against the white and I like the soft shadow-like effect that they have used.
