DESCRIPTION During that period Christian kingdoms gradually took control over the Iberian Peninsula from Muslim kingdoms who had previously occupated it.

IMPORTANCE Despite the cruelty of the period and the number of losses, the reconquest of our country allowed us being the country we are nowadays since Christianity has played an essential part on our history and the development of our country.

DESCRIPTION The Spanish Civil War was a civil war in Spain between rebels (known asNationalists) and the Spanish Republic and its Republican government and supporters

IMPORTANCE The war ended with the victory of the Nationalists, as the rebels were called, and their leader FRANCISCO FRANCCO. As the leader of the winning side he became the first spanish dictator and one of the most famous dictatoship in history. He brought the hardest time that our country has suffered in history .

NAME DEATH OF FRANCISCO FRANCO

DESCRIPTION The death of Francisco Franco who became the first Spanish “generalisimo”/ dictator. From 1939 on, Franco was a dictator. His rule was law. Franco’s Spain displayed all the usual characteristics of a right wing dictatorship. All opposition was ruthlessly dealt with and there were thousands of civil losses.

IMPORTANCE When he died in November 1975, the monarchy was restored when Prince Juan Carlos became head of state, so this meant the end of the dictatorship and its lack of freedom.
