Your Comments About the Staff Report, Including Recommendations Supported or Opposed: The Brenham and Austin Homes are vital to serve the clients that so badly need these services in their respective Metropolitan Areas: perhaps the valuable Austin land could be sold to fund the purchase of another property in the Austin area and the clients relocated using these funds....
Any Alternative or New Recommendations on This Agency: As above
My Comment Will Be Made Public: I agree

Dear Commissioners:
I am writing about the proposal to close (sunset) State Supported Living Centers for Special Needs Clients of the State of Texas, such as the one at Brenham, Texas that is currently before your Commission. I urge you to continue to fund these vital Living Centers that provide services for people such as Ryan James Schaumburger {photo of Ryan and his Mom, Susan Judge Schaumburger attached), from his very recent honorary High School graduation from Brenham High School) as to close these facilities will impose an unimaginable hardship, both financially and mentally, on the Clients and their Families. As human beings, citizens (and voters) I am certain that the State of Texas has other fat that can be cut from its huge budget to spare this basic, humanitarian safety net service for the State's most fragile and at risk citizens. Feel free to contact me should you need more information. Thanks for your consideration of my opinion on this vital issue.
