and three students were recognized as state winners and presented with a certificate.

First Reading of Parent/Student Handbooks
Board Members were given a copy of the Parent/Student Handbooks for the 2018-2019 school
year. A second reading will be held at the June 21st board meeting.

Systems for School Based Mental Health Counseling for the 2018-2019 school year. In May
of 2016, the GCT School District and Mid-South Health Systems agreed to a three year contract
for School Based Mental Health Counseling Services. These services have been reviewed and
both parties would like to continue the contract for the 2018-2019 school year. (See attached)

recommendation for approval of the quote in the amount of $200,004.00 (not including tax or
shipping) from HP for the purchase of up to 300 HP Probook Laptops with 3 year
accidental damage protection (not to exceed $609.00 each plus tax) and up to 7 HP
Managed Charging Carts (not to exceed $2,472.00 each plus tax). We will also be
purchasing up to 14 LocknCharge Carrier 10 Stationary Charging Stations in the amount
of $7,280.00 (not including tax or shipping) from SHI (not to exceed $520.00 each plus
tax and shipping). Total cost for all laptops, managed charging carts, and charging stations
not to exceed $226,614.36 including tax and shipping. This purchase will come from textbook
and special projects money. Laptops and managed charging carts will be purchased from the
state approved vendor Hewlett Packard using the NASPO VP PC contract or (Big Deal)
negotiated pricing, whichever is lower. The LocknCharge charging stations will come from SHI
who is a TIPS/TAPS and TCPN (cooperative purchasing) member with best pricing
including tax and shipping. A quote was also received from CDW-G for the LocknCharge
Charging Stations in the amount of $11,634.83 (including tax and shipping), which was a higher

recommendation for approval of the Arkansas Better Chance Enhancement Grant. During
the 2017 Legislative Session, Governor Hutchison committed funds to improve the quality in the
ABC Program. Some funds were targeted at rewarding teacher quality and enhanced innovation.
These funds were intended to be used to reward the credentialed teaching staff in the ABC
program including both certified teachers and classroom paraprofessionals. The funds are for the
credentialed staff who are listed in the COPA preschool program. (See attached)

Contract Adjustment
1. Lisa Fry – Adjust her contract reducing her number of working days from 195 days per year to 190 days per
year, effective for the 2018-2019 school year.
2. Joe Marsden – Transfer from his current Custodial position at Jr. High School to Computer Lab Manager at
Jr. High School, effective for the 2018-2019 school year. He will be placed on the computer lab manager
salary schedule and will remain on his current step.
3. Janet Harris – Add duties of ABC PreK Financial Manager, effective for the 2018-2019 school year. She will
receive a stipend in the amount of $3,000.00.
4. Michelle Aaron – Add duties of High School Archery Coach, effective for the 2018-2019 school year. She
will receive a stipend in the amount of $650.00.
Classified Employment
1. Kayla Coates – Employ as a Paraprofessional at Elementary School, effective for the 2018-2019 school year.
She will be placed on step 1 of the paraprofessional salary schedule.
Licensed Employment
1. Sydney Layrock – Employ as Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Jr. High Head Girls Basketball Coach,
7th Grade Girls Basketball Coach, and Girls Assistant Track Coach, effective for the 2018-2019 school year.
She will be placed on step 1 of the licensed salary schedule and will be placed on a 210 day contract. She will
receive stipends in the amount of $2,500.00 for Head Jr. High Basketball, $1,250.00 for 7th Grade Girls

Mr. Weeks shared several positives with the board members which included the Tech TV
Program, Theater Program, ROTC Program, Maintenance Department, FFA Program, Choir
Program, Band Program, Eagle Academy, Softball Team, Baseball Team, Grady Davis one of
our retiring bus drivers, Senior Walk at Primary, Senior Honors Day Program, and Middle
School Pep Rally for Testing.
With no other business to be addressed, Jason Weatherford adjourned the meeting.
