Date:___________________________________ Hello, Preschool Parents and Students! While you are at home during this time, your teacher wants you to continue to learn. Therefore, she has made these learning activities for you to do with your parent or an older brother or sister’s help. You have one sheet to do per day. Parents, please write the date at the top of the page and save the pages. We will give you more information later as to how the pages will be collected. We are providing each student with over a month’s worth of work (25 days) just in case it is needed. Remember, these schedules are based on our current schedule at Smackover Preschool. Please make them work for you and your family. There are so many ways that preschoolers can learn while they are at home. Learning for preschool happens most when children are engaged in activities that encourage language, literacy, gross motor, fine motor, structure, and other developmentally appropriate skills. The schedule and learning activities we have provided here will provide your child with everything needed to help your child learn and make this time at home an enjoyable learning experience. draw enough gumballs in each section that matches the number. (Example: Section has the number 2 in it the child would draw two gumballs in that section.) The student can then color their gumballs if they would like to.

_____ Practice making patterns with your child. Parent cut out shapes (square, triangle, circle) from

colored paper with each shape being one color. Lay down a pattern and have your child match your pattern. Do this several times using different pattern sequences. You can also use objects you have around the house to make patterns.

What is the weather like outside? _____ Give your child a letter of the alphabet and ask them to give you a word that starts with that letter. Go all the way through the alphabet but only giving the child one letter at a time. If they struggle with this practice it more often. _____ Let your child get some pots, pans, buckets, wooden spoons and other materials to start

a band. Let them give you a concert. _____ Read with your child for 10 minutes. What book did you read? _____ Use paper plates and write a number on each plate 1-5. Make a second set of plates

with the numbers 1-5. Then lay the plates out on the floor all mixed up face down. Have your child turn over two plates if the numbers don’t match they turn the plates back over and turn over two more. This is a matching game. When they have a match they put them together and put them to the side. This game can be played with letters, numbers, pictures, more than one player, etc.
