ConnectingMeters(continued)Onceallthedriversareinstalledproperlyandthesoftwareislaunched,DASautomaticallydetectsanyofthesupportedCO2Meter.comproductsanddisplaysthemintheSensorManagementTrayasshowninFigure2.Ifthisprocessdoesn’tlaunchautomaticallywhenyouconnectthemetertoyourcomputer,pleasecontactusforsupport.

Whenthemeterhasbeendetected,youcanstartcollectingreal‐timedataordownloadingsavedlogsbyselectingthemeterintheSensorManagementTray,andclickingtheappropriatebutton.Formetersthatdonothaveonboardstorage,theManageandDownloadLogsfeaturewillnotbeavailable.Formoreinformationonmanaginglogs,seetheDownloadingLogssectioninthemanual.

RenamingtheMeterUpondetection,DASwillaskyoutogivethemeteranameoranaliasasshowninFigure3.Thisisusefulwhenyouhavemorethanonemeter,suchasmultipledataloggers,andneedtodistinguishbetweenthem.NOTE:thiswillbetheonlyopportunitythatyou’llhavetochangethealias.

o LEDDisplayThresholdsThemeterallowsforcustomizationoftheLCD(LiquidCrystalDisplay)back‐litdisplayprovidingavisualindicationofthecurrentCO2conditions.Thedisplaywillchangecolordependingontheactuallevelreadingsbysettingthe“Green”,“Yellow”,and“Red”ranges.IntheexampleshownonFigure4,the“Green”LEDcolorwillbedisplayediftheCO2levelreadingsarebelow10%ofthemeter’smeasuringrange,the“Yellow”LEDcolorwillbedisplayediftheCO2levelreadingsarebetween10%and20%ofthemeter’smeasuringrange,andthe“Red”LEDcolorwillbedisplayediftheCO2levelreadingsareabove20%ofthemeter’smeasuringrange(uptothemaximummeter’smeasuringrange).NOTE:Ifthemeterreadsinppm,ignorethe%symbolsandjustaddthespecificvaluesinppm.

o OptionalBuzzerSomeofmeterswillincludeanalarmbuzzer.Thissectionallowsyoutocustomizethebuzzer’scharacteristics.TheThresholdisbasicallytheCO2levelatwhichthebuzzerwillsoundduetoanalarm.TheMutePeriodsetstheamountoftimethebuzzerwillbeinsilentmodeafterthe“Mute”buttononthemeterhavebeendepressed.NOTE:Ifthemeterreadsinppm,ignorethe%symbolsandjustaddthespecificvaluesinppm.

o BatterySaverModeSelectingthischeckboxwillputthemeterinBatterySaverMode.Thiswillassistinsavingasignificantamountofpower.Thismodewillactuallydisablethemeter’spumpregardlessofthe

ConfigureInternalSensorThisbuttonallowsaccesstoOutputs,ABC/Frac/CalibrationandSensorInformation.Proceedcarefullywhenchanginganyparametersthatwillaffectthefunctionalityofthesensor.Forexample,theMODBUSaddressshouldalwaysbe100.Forfurtherdetailandexplanation,consulttheUserManualofthemeter.

CheckforUpdatesToCHECKFORUPDATESusedeitherthebuttonasshowninFigure4orthedropdownintheHelpsectionasshowninFigure5.ThiswillcheckyourcurrentversionofDASsoftwaretoconfirmthelatestupdatedversionofthesoftware.Ifupdatesarefound,youwillbepromptedtoinstalltheseupdates.WESTRONGLYRECOMMENDKEEPINGYOURSOFTWAREUP‐TO‐DATETOASSUREYOUHAVETHELATESTDRIVERSFORTHEMETER(S).Ifupdatesarenotfound,noactionisrequired.

CollectingDataOncetheDASsoftwarehasbeeninstalledandthemeterisconnectedtothecomputer,youcangatherdatainavarietyofways.Dependingonthetypeofmeter,datacanbecollectedinrealtime,datalogscanbedownloadedfromthemeter’smemory(ifequipped),andsavedtothecomputer,anddatacanbereviewedonthemeter’sLCDdisplay(ifequipped).

CollectReal‐timeOnceyouhaveopenedtheDASsoftwareandconnectedthemetertothecomputer,youcanstartcollectingdatainrealtime.SimplyclickontheCOLLECTREALTIMEbuttononthecontrolpaneloftheDASsoftwareinterface.Selectthemeasurementrequired,enteratitleforthedataplot,setthetimeintervalasdesiredtographthevalues(seeNOTEbelow),andclickontheSELECTFILEANDSTARTbuttonfoundinthebottomrightcornerofthewindow,asshownonFigure13.NOTE:TheloggingintervalofthemeterisdifferentthantheloggingintervalinDAS.Topreventrepeatreadings/informationonthegraph,synchronizethemeter’sloggingintervalswiththeDASloggingintervals.

AdditionalFeaturesandFunctionsTheDASsoftwareallowsyoutotakecontrolofthedatacollected,makingiteasytoutilizethisdatawithitsintegratedgraphicalinterfaceoranyothersoftwareofyourpreference.Youcansave,open,export,graphandprintthedata,amongotherfeaturesthatwillallowthedatatobeanalyzedinavarietyofways.

SavingDataDatawillbesavedautomaticallywhencollectingreal‐time.ChangesmadetothefilecanbesavedbyclickingonthefloppydiskiconontheToolbar.Ifprompted,(dependingonmeter&application),selectthedesiredlocationandfilename(werecommendusingmeaningfulfilenames)andclick“Save”.Makesureyouusethefileextension“.das”attheendofthefilenametoformatthelogproperlyandtoensurethefilecanbeatalaterdateutilizingtheDASsoftware.

OpeningDataLogsThedatalogssavedinyourmeter’sonboardstorage(ifequipped)oraftercollectingdatainrealtimewiththeDASsoftware,canbeopenedforfurtheranalysisorforexporting.Toopenadatalog,goto“File”onthemainmenuandselectVIEW/OPENDATA.LogscanalsobeopenedbyclickingontheOpenFoldericonontheToolbar.

ExportingDataOnceyouhavecollectedthenecessarydata,itcanbeexportedtoaspreadsheetincomma‐separatedvalues(.csv)format.Thedatacanbeopenedandmanagedinanymajorspreadsheetsoftwarethataccepts.csvfiles.Toexportthedatatoaspreadsheet,goto“File”onthemainmenuandselect“ExportDatatoSpreadsheet”.Selectalocation(Desktopisrecommendedforeasyaccess)andameaningfulfilenameandclick“Save”onthebottomrightcornerofthe“SaveAs”window.DatacanalsobeexportedbyclickingontheEXPORTDATAiconontheToolbarNOTE:datacollectedcanbeexportedinrealtimeorsavedasalogfrompreviousmeasurements.TheonlydatathatcanbeexportedisthefilethatisshownontheMainWorkspaceinDAS.Accessthedataneeded,displayit,thenexport.

SavingtheGraphAfteryouhaveopenedthedatalogsrequired,theycanbeanalyzedviathegraphandsavedasanimagefile(.jpg)forfuturereference,streamliningtheprocessofincorporatingittoanyelectronicdocumentsuchasareportcreatedinaword‐processingprogram.Tosavethegraph,goto“File”onthemainmenuandselect“SaveGraphasImage”asshowninFigure23.SelectasuitableimagesizeasshownonFigure24andclickonthe“Save”buttononthebottomrightcornerofthewindow.Selectthedesiredfilelocationandfilenameandsave.
