He was a multisport athlete at Crossland High School and was offered the opportunity to play college football. [1] However, Tank decided to focus on music and his talent eventually led him to an opportunity to sing background vocals for Ginuwine during one of Ginuwine's tours. In 2002, Tank released his second album One Man and a single of the same name. Tank released his third solo album entitled Sex, Love & Pain on May 15, 2007. The lead single was intended to be "I Luv Dem Girls", but for unknown reasons the song was given to Marques Houston who renamed it "Strip Club" and subsequently did not release it on his own album "Veteran." Tank's first single off this third album was the Timbaland remix to "I Luv Dem Girls". The second single was "Please Don't Go ". Later in the year Tank, Ginuwine and Tyrese Gibson formed a group called TGT . Their first single was a remix of "Please Don't Go". The group was put on hold due to contractual issues, but would go on to sign a contract with Atlantic Records in September 2012. Tank released his fourth studio album, Now or Never , on December 14, 2010. Tank collaborated with artists who included Chris Brown , Drake , Letoya Luckett on this project. The singles were "Sex Music ", "I Can't Make You Love Me", and "Emergency ". Tank released his fifth studio album entitled This Is How I Feel on May 8, 2012. Tank collaborated with the artists Chris Brown , Busta Rhymes , T.I. and Kris Stephens on the album. The song "Compliments", featuring Kris Stephens and T.I., was released as the lead single on October 17, 2011. The song "Next Breath" was released on January 3, 2012 as the second single off the album.

Writing and producing[edit]

Tank's songwriting and production credits include working with Beyonce, Dave Hollister, Aaliyah, Kelly Rowland, Marques Houston, Omarion, Jamie Foxx, Pitbull, Donell Jonesand Monica [2]  as a member of the production team The Underdogs and with his own team, Song Dynasty.

Acting[edit]

He was a contributor to the score of the film adaptation of the musical Dreamgirls, in which he had a cameo. He was also featured in the movie Preacher's Kid. Tank had also co-starred in "It Ain't Easy" which featured rapper Mack 10.

Personal life[edit]

Tank is the father of five children: Jordan, Ryen, Zoey, Durrell Jr., and Zion. [3]
