Introduction

It has been asked to write a self reflection base on drawing a picture, tracing my own drawing image and adobe illustrator base typography of my full name. The following will content firstly the weaknesses and strengths of my final work, the process of my achievement and the lesson learnt from this project. Secondly, the method used to choose the artists who influence my work will be explored. Finally my point of view how the reading and resources on blackboard helped me engage with the brief will be explained.

At the time, I was frightened to death to be told by our lecture that we had to draw a picture. I was asking myself how on earth, I would be able to draw one. One the practical day my hand was shaken by holdding a willow charcoal. While I was drawing a picture without lifting my hand I broke my willow charcoal several times as it was my first experience.

For me, the aspect of training myself how to use illustrator was relevant in this course. I was able to finish my project and hand it on time. Taking note and asking a question to the teachers has a big impact on my ability to analyse any given task. I was able to trace my image without any problem. Most importantly, I was able to help my classmates who were not in during the lecture. Furthermore, looking at the website given by my lecture had widened my thought. First, I used the pen to trace my drawing image. Second, I also use the pen tool to create every single letter of my name. I applied some three dimension effect. Finally, I have positioned all the let-ters together in order to give an artistic meaning. My most accomplish work was the letter L which carry I and the pink colour, that represent a person carrying a child. It was to express my loving nature to other.

Given an opportunity to it again, I would explore others tools and effects which will help my ability to provide an astonishing work. In addition, I would start working on the project well ahead before the due date.

I visited NICK ZDON works at his website, his work called you’re sweet amazed me a lot. I also took on board the comment made by the lecture on my previous work which was to avoid using Google images. It helped me to change my initial idea for this project. My idea was to use a plain test in illustrator, adding a node and distort it by stretching them. Learning from my previous error I decided to create my own style of typographic by mainly using the pen tool.

I have slightly developed my knowledge of reading by learning from the resource provided on blackboard. It helped me catch up my course works even if, I was absent or lost my brief. Hav-ing fully participated on the course was essential to me. It allowed me to remove any doubt in my mind.

Conclusion

This project was a learning curve for me. It also helped me to broke cannot do altitude (do know how to draw). It revealed that not all graffiti are works of vandalism but also Arts.
