Title:Waratah Emergency Familiarisation Course
Purpose: The purpose of this course in to enable Emergency Services Personnel to work safely aroundthe train and utilise Waratah (A-Set) equipment and systems for emergency operations.
LearningOutcomes:
At the completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
Identify hazards of the Waratah (A-Set) train.
Identify the safety and security features of the Waratah (A-Set) train.
Locate Waratah (A-Set) emergency equipment.
Describe the internal layout of the Waratah (A-Set) train.
Describe the external layout of the Waratah (A-Set) train.
Identify roof mounted equipment of the Waratah (A-Set) train.
Locate the roof emergency cut-out areas of the Waratah (A-Set) train.
Describe the procedure to operate Alternate Access Panels on the Inter-car doors.
Describe the operation of Emergency Door Releases.
Describe the operation of the Terminal End Access Door.
Describe the deployment of the Emergency Access Ramp.

This course will be conducted over the period of 1 hour using one of two methods:
1. Classroom instruction with practical demonstration (when classroom and trainavailable); or
2. Conducted entirely onboard a train without a classroom session being carried out(when classroom unavailable and train available); or
