er Opened in mid 2008, Darwin Convention Center is the Northern Territory’s award-winning preferred meeting venue. The architecturally spectacular design marks it as an iconic landmark set on the thriving waterfront. The multi-purpose convention center features 4000 sqm of exhibition space, 1500 seat plenary capacity and twelve meeting rooms.

As the northern hub of Australia’s investment and with growth forecast, Darwin required a convention center of international standards. The center strives to be a destination of choice, delivering a world-class experience. Setting high standards and creating a comfortable environment is a priority requiring smooth operations of all facility systems and services. The convention center is sustainably minded looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and go green.

• Honeywell provided facility wide integration via Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) 410.2.

• DVM 400, Security and Access control, HVAC, Integrated Fire Control (Notifier by Honeywell), Lighting and Energy Management Control were installed.

• Total Asset Management (TAM) FM for the entire facility.

• Alarm management of the Building Management System and mechanical plant including refrigeration equipment, boilers, chillers, energy metering, and CO2 sensors in the car-parks.

• Collection and distribution of data to ensure availability and access to information.

• Honeywell effectively provided an interface between technology providers, the customer, builders, engineers and architects to maximise smart technology for real outcomes. This resulted in positive outcomes for the installation team and end user with the integrated solution.

Facility-wide integration of building management systems to monitor and control HVAC, lighting and management of all assets in the facility.

Integrated digital based lighting system for automated lighting, stepped dimming control and energy efficient timers minimize energy wastage.

A preventative maintenance contract ensures that issues are addressed before they impact the operation of the facility or cause discomfort to guests of the center.

Asset lifecycle modeling and preventative maintenance ensures that all assets are maintained in an efficient and effective manner, minimising downtime and cost.

Sustainable mindset reflected in careful consideration of all internal materials including floor, wall coverings, fixtures and fittings for maximum durability, minimum maintenance and sustainable sourcing methods.

Reduced risk and continuity of operation is achieved by Honeywell ensuring that systems are operational 24/7, 365 days of the year.

Totally integrated building systems allows for greater flexibility in the operation and usage of the centers facility. Increasing customers revenue potential though adaptability to servicing their clients specific needs.
