Daruma• A Japanese good luck symbol• It stands for the spirit of courage and determination• Constructed as a folk art doll so that no matter how

it is tipped, it reverts to the upright position• Often given when an individual starts something new• Invites personal goal setting; paint one eye when a

goal is set and the other when it has been met• What is your goal for this course? Think, decide, and
