What is Dental Phobia?

Dental Phobia is the fear of going

to the dentist, it’s not an

uncommon fear either. There are

many reasons as to why people

fear seeing their dentist.

Fears

Many of the fears that people have,

originate from bad childhood

experiences. Another common fear is

that people believe the treatment

they need is going to hurt, in most

cases, this is incorrect.

Negative Effects

Avoiding your dentist could leave your teeth in a

bad state. Not only your teeth, but your overall

health too. There are cases of people who have

avoid their dentist and brushed more often

because they think that brushing more often

helps. It can actually cause your enamel to

weaken because you’re unnecessarily brushing.

Overcoming Dental Phobia

Dentists are now more sympathetic towards people

who have dental phobia. Many of the perks of

today’s dentistry industry is that the industry in

general is a lot more friendly.

going to the dentist is a lot of people’s worst
