WRISTBAND DISTRIBUTION GUIDELINES

Wristbands will be distributed on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6:00 AM at the Barnes & Noble at Westfield Old Orchard (55 Old Orchard Center, Skokie, IL 60077, (847) 676-2230)

To receive a wristband, you must purchase a copy of DARE TO DREAM: LIFE AS ONE DIRECTION from Barnes & Noble at Westfield Old Orchard.

You must have a wristband and a copy of DARE TO DREAM to participate in the book signing on Saturday, June 2nd.

500 wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Follow One Direction on Twitter and Facebook to check the wristband distribution status. Once all wristbands have been given out, the event is closed. There will not be a standby line.

1 wristband will grant 1 fan and 1 parent/guardian access to the book signing line. PLEASE NOTE: JUST BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE TABLE THE PARENT/GUARDIAN WILL BE DIVERT TO SEPARATE LINE. THIS LINE IS JUST BEHIND THE SIGNING LINE AND WILL ALLOW THE PARENT/GUARDIAN TO TAKE PICTURES OF THEIR CHILD.

You must be present at Barnes & Noble Westfield Old Orchard on May 23rd at 6:00 AM to purchase a book and get a wristband.

Wristbands will not be replaced if lost or stolen. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Wristbands are non-transferrable and cannot be sold.

Westfield Old Orchard Management has provided security for this event and will enforce the mall’s Code of Conduct. Guests will be expected to adhere to the line management as well as the Code of Conduct that will ensure an organized and smooth event for everyone to enjoy. Disruptive guests will be asked to leave the event.

EVENT GUIDELINES (Updated 5.25.12)

To enter the book signing line on Saturday, June 2nd you must wear the wristband you received from Barnes & Noble and have a pre-purchased copy of DARE TO DREAM. NO EXCEPTIONS. Books must be purchased from Barnes & Noble at Westfield Old Orchard.

If you are a wristband-wearer with special needs, please alert us at the entrance so that we can make the appropriate arrangements for the signing.

You must be in line by 12:30 PM to have your book signed. The book signing line will begin in the East parking lot in front of Barnes & Noble.

Westfield Old Orchard is private property. We WILL NOT allow overnight parking prior to the event. Parking lots will open at 5am on June 2nd. This will be the first time people will be allowed on the property. Anyone on the property before 5am on June 2nd will be asked to leave.

Photography at the signing table is not allowed. Please give your camera to a parent/guardian and they will be allowed to take your photo from the waiting area.

Parent/Guardian must wear the numbered wristband they received at Barnes & Noble when the DARE TO DREAM book was purchased.

One Direction will sign ONE copy of DARE TO DREAM per wristband only. No memorabilia, CDS, or other books will be signed.

If you do not have a wristband, you may enjoy the festivities from a sanctioned area in the Westfield Old Orchard East parking lot in front of Barnes & Noble. You will not be allowed to join the book signing line.

The One Direction book signing will be photographed and videotaped. By entering the event, you are agreeing to allow us to use your likeness in photos/videos. The photos/videos will be used on, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter and other online outlets belonging to Westfield Old Orchard and HarperCollins as well as in printed outlets.

Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a person 18 years or older.

Guests should park in the West parking garages and lots per attached map.

IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY WESTFIELD RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALTER THE EVENT LOGISTICS AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF WESTFIELD MANAGEMENT AND/OR UPON THE REQUEST OF LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OR OTHER MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY.

THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE.

Q: I want to get a book signed by One Direction. What do I do? A: In order to be allowed into the signing line on June 2nd, you will need to obtain a copy of Dare to

Dream: Life As One Direction and a wristband from Barnes & Noble at Westfield Old Orchard (55 Old Orchard Center, Skokie, IL 600077). The wristbands will be given out starting at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23. You must purchase the book from Barnes & Noble at Westfield Old Orchard in order to get the wristband.

Q: How many wristbands will be given out? A: 500 wristbands will be given out on a first-come, first serve basis. When the 500 wristbands have been

given out, the event is closed. There will be no standby line. Q: How will I know when all 500 wristbands have been distributed? A: Follow One Direction on Twitter and Facebook. The status of the wristband distribution will be posted

there. Q: How much does the book cost? A: The list price is $12.99. Discounts such as B&N membership and coupons will apply.

Q: Should I go to Barnes & Noble at Westfield Old Orchard to purchase the book earlier than May 23rd? A: You can purchase a book before May 23rd, but please know there is no advantage to doing so. There

will be a single line for purchasing the book and obtaining the wristband. If you do purchase the book in advance from B&N Westfield Old Orchard, you must keep the receipt and show it, along with your book, on May 23rd. If you do not present a book AND a receipt, you will not receive a wristband. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Q: My friend and I both want to meet the band. If I get one book and one wristband, can she stand next to

me during the book signing? A: One wristband will grant one fan access to the signing line. If your friend wishes to meet the band, he or

she must also obtain a wristband. However, each fan may bring one adult parent or guardian, who will be diverted to a separate line just behind the signing line. From this area, your parent/guardian will be able to take photos of you as you pass by the table.

Q: Can I camp out at the mall overnight prior to the wristband event on May 23rd?

A: Westfield Old Orchard does not allow overnight parking on a regular basis. However, we will allow overnight parking on May 22nd in the West parking garages and lots. Please check facebook.com/westfieldoldorchard or call Westfield Old Orchard the morning of May 22nd for additional details starting at 10:00am at 847-673-6800. If you plan on staying in the area for an extended period of time, please call one of the local hotels near Westfield Old Orchard to make a reservation.

Q: Some of my friends cannot come to Barnes & Noble on May 23rd and asked me to stand in line for them. Can I buy three books and obtain three wristbands?

A: No, only one wristband per individual will be given out, no matter how many books the individual purchases.

Q: I was one of the 500 people who obtained a wristband. Where do I go on June 2nd in order to get my

book signed? A: The book signing will take place in the Westfield Old Orchard East Parking Lot in front of Barnes & Noble.

Look for signs and security to direct you where to join the line. Q: Do I need to wear my red One Direction wristband to get my book signed at the event? A: Yes, you need to wear your red One Direction wristband to get into the event. Q: Will my parent/guardian need to wear their numbered pink wristband to get into the event? A: Yes, your parent /guardian will need to wear their numbered pink wristband to get into the event.

Q: What time do I need to be there in order to get my book signed? A: You must be in line by 12:30 p.m. Westfield Old Orchard does not allow overnight parking. Barnes & Noble. You may enjoy the festivities from there. You will not be allowed to join the signing line.

Q: What are the festivities spectators will be able to enjoy? A: Spectators will be able to enjoy a DJ, dancers, musical entertainment, live interviews, prizes and

giveaways and more. In the interest of safety Westfield reserves the right to determine capacity for this event at the sole discretion of Westfield Management and/or upon the request of local law enforcement or other municipal authority.

Q: Can I bring a folding chair or cooler to this event? A: No. Q: Will One Direction be performing at Westfield Old Orchard? A: One Direction will NOT be performing on June 2nd at Westfield Old Orchard. They will be signing pre-

purchased copies of DARE TO DREAM for 500 wristband holders.
