achieved so far. But more important is what the
company intends to achieve as we look ahead...
The Journey to ExcellenceDarabshaw B. Dubash founded a partnership firm in the year 1929 for operations as Stevedores, Ship agents, Ship Chandlers and Landing & Shipping Contractors.
With immediate effect, in the year 1929 the ruler of the State of Bhavnagar, Prabhashankar Patni; invited us to manage the Bhavnagar Port as Landing and Shipping Contractors. Impressed by DBC’s performance and the proficient functioning of the Bhavnagar port, the Jamsaheb of Jamnagar invited us to run their port as well in 1948. Soon DBC Gujarat initiated a series of pioneering projects along the entire coast of Gujarat, making us a name to reckon with in Shipping.
In the early 1930’s we started our association with NYK Line (Japan) when we handled their salt, cotton and small machinery vessels. This association has endured and grown over 3 generations. Today we are proud of this over 80 year relationship and are handling bulk, break bulk, project, container and car carrier vessels.
1969 the partnership firm was converted into a Private Limited Company.
1987 we handled the first car carrier vessel in India at Kandla Port for NYK Line India Ltd carrying Maruti Suzuki Cars.
2002 DBC started Chemical Logistics business for ISO Tanks.Subsequently in 2002 the Chartering and Project handling Division was established.
2008 we started at Mundra our PDI division (Pre-delivery Inspection of Cars) for export of Maruti Cars for NYK Line India Ltd.
