Biographical Sketch: 2011 Daphne Street has spent more than 18 years as a professional in nonprofit environments focusing on a broad range of interests from the fine and performing arts to behavioral healthcare. She currently serves as Grants Specialist for Operation PAR, Inc. and has been with the agency for approximately seven years, collectively. A media studies and communications scholar, Ms. Street also works as a freelance writer and communications consultant, helping businesses develop targeted marketing materials, presentations and communications, marketing, advertising and business plans along with graphic design and multi-media development. Having first-hand experience in the power of new media to reach and engage target audiences with customized messages, she works with these tools to help strategically reduce barriers associated with traditional advertising and media relations. Ms. Street is an effective public speaker and has facilitated multi-media presentations on topics such as social media for nonprofits, values-centered marketing, new media communications, social networking ROI strategy & measurement and communications planning. Ms. Street is a native to Pinellas County, Florida and is committed to helping strengthen communities using her unique skills and experience. To this end, she currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless (PCCH) and as Co-Chair of the PCCH/Homeless Leadership Network Communications Committee. Ms. Street also serves on the Communications Committee for the Tampa Bay Healthcare Collaborative. Since 2005, Ms. Street has been providing communications consultation, writing and graphic design services to the LiveFree! Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Pinellas County. In 2007, Ms. Street was appointed to the JWB Children’s Services Council of Pinellas County’s Task Force on Youth and Sexual Activity —the Task Force initiative ended as scheduled in 2010.
