Citadel of Acre

Take care of the citizen mob approaching from both sides.

Page 3: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

During the Citadel of Acre, citizens will come out from the left and right. Here, you will be given the chance to get familiar with your light and heavy attacks. Combine both of them to defeat the horde of citizens. The Light Attack combo will make it a lot easier against them, as the third and fourth attack of the string will make Dante attack in a full circular motion to keep the citizens from ganging up on you. But don't worry; they will do very little damage. Avoid the catapult shots coming from the ships out in the distance. Once you've defeated all of the citizens, a flaming boat will come crashing into the castle front. Go towards the boat and Double Jump to the ledge, starting a cut-scene with Death.

Death

You'll want Death to grab you like this, finishing the QTE will inflict major damage onto him.

Run towards Death with your running quick attack into your Light Attack combo string. For now, he will usually only do three attacks: A single strike with his scythe, a three hit attack string, and a full circular attack with teleportation mixed in. All three of those attacks are blockable. You will notice that Death also has "Super Armor," which means that he will not be stunned at certain times by your attacks. As you attack, use guard canceling to block his attacks since his Super Armor is active at random times. Dodging is another option you can use as well (remember you can dodge while holding guard) and retaliating during Death's recovery from his offense. Later on in the fight, Death will start to do a few more attacks; a flaming dash attack and scythe throw attack. He also will have a new ground pound attack. Be sure to dodge it as it is unblockable. You will be able to notice when he does his ground pound attack as he raises his scythe in the air and will flash black/red.

Dodge Death's dashing attack to either side. As he's stunned, execute a Finisher on him.

Death will now mix up all of his attacks, including one new attack where he raises his scythe and extends his scythe blade to stab you. Once you get Death down to 10% health, you will be able to initiate a Finisher. As you complete the Finisher, you will obtain Death's Scythe! As he begs for mercy, pummel him until another Finisher option comes up. After the Finisher, you will obtain Souls, which you can use to buy upgrades and new attacks for Dante. Congratulations, you have just defeated Death!

Dante's House/Chasing Beatrice

Page 4: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Defeat the wave of Undead outside Dante's House, then save your game and absorb your first fountain.

Once the cut-scene ends; you will end up outside of Dante's house. A wave of Undead Minions will pop up from the ground, coming after Dante. Attack them with a mix of your light and heavy attacks, making sure also to hit the cross headstones for additional Souls. You can also launch enemies up by pressing and holding the Heavy Attack button. You may also notice the meter on the bottom left of the screen. That meter is called the "Redemption Meter," which will fill up as you attack and do stylish combos. Once it is filled, you can activate it and it will give Dante a boost in power and speed. Once you've defeated all of the enemies, you will be able to purchase your first upgrade. I highly recommend saving up until you can get Repayment, since guarding and defense is important, but purchase whatever you feel like, then continue onto the path ahead. You will now be introduced to your first Beatrice Statue to save your game and your first green Fountain to restore health. Save your game, restore your health, and then head inside the citadel. A cut-scene will initiate.

Use your new Holy Cross to shoot down the Pests and use the wooden cross to advance forward.

After the cut-scene you will obtain the power of Beatrice's Holy Cross. Part of the citadel will collapse and Pests will spawn. Use your Holy Cross to shoot Holy Blasts to defeat them. You can only do two actions with the Holy Cross for now. Another way to defeat the Pests is by jumping up and slamming them to the ground with your Grab button, which will count as a one-hit kill for these enemies. After defeating them, Undead Minion will spawn from the floor and you will now be able to Judge them by grabbing them. Punish or Absolve them, take your pick. You will gain Unholy or Holy experience depending on which you choose. Upon defeating them, a giant wooden cross to your left will fall over to where you are, making a path for you. Be quick to jump onto it though, as the floor will collapse if you are not fast enough. Quickly run up the cross and Double Jump towards the ledge. Pull yourself up if need be. Absorb the green fountain and slide down the pole to your left. Dismount it and land on the path below. Now you must escape being crushed by the giant wheel by defeating all of the Undead Minions that is blocking your way. The gate at the end will open once you cleared all the Undead Minion out.

Page 5: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Destroy all of the Undead before getting flattened by the giant wheel. Use your Holy Cross to materialize the Fire Minions.

Dismount it and land on the path below. Now you must escape being crushed by the giant wheel by defeating all of the Undead Minions that is blocking your way. The gate at the end will open once you cleared all the Undead Minion out. Go through the gate and a flaming cross will fall and block your way. You will now be introduced to the Fire Minions. You may notice that your regular attacks will not work against these fiends, but your Holy Cross will! Fire Holy Blasts at them to freeze them in place and destroy them with one of your regular attacks. The flaming cross will then explode, allowing you to continue. Another wave of the Undead Minions will come at you. You can use this wave to Judge them and gain more Holy or Unholy points, since you aren't in a race for time. Be wary of the flames from the pillars though and make sure you absorb both fountains.

Gates of Hell

After beating the wave of the Undead Minions, save your game at the Beatrice Statue and go down the pole up ahead. Near the giant door you will meet Virgil. Speak to him and he will grant you your first magic attack: Righteous Path. You will now be able to absorb blue fountains which will refill your magic meter.

Pests and Undead Minions will appear after speaking with Virgil. Judge the Undead Minions to gain more XP and defeat the Pests by grabbing them or using the Holy Cross. By now, you should be able to purchase another upgrade from the menu. After defeating the Undead Minions and Pests, an Asterian Beast will come crashing through the wall.

Asterian Beast

Woah, easy boy...easy.

Page 6: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

The Asterian Beast will have Super Armor most of the time, so attack it wisely. Use Righteous Path and attack him with your light or heavy attacks up close and dodge it's stomp and ground pound attack during your attack strings. If you get low on health, run away and use the Holy Cross at a distance. Use the fountains around the area if necessary to refill on magic and health. After doing enough damage to the Asterian Beast, a Finisher will be available for you to do. Destroy the Beast Tamer and you will gain control of the Asterian Beast! After gaining control, a small group of the Undead Minions will spawn. Use the Asterian Beast’s abilities (pound, stomp, grab, fire breathing) to massacre all the minions and to advance forward.

The First Circle of Hell: Limbo Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors

Contents Shores of Acheron River of Archeron Limbo King Minos

Shores of Acheron After the cut-scene, you will fall into the Shores of Acheron. Go to your left and climb up the walls with Undead Minions Climb. As you are climbing, pull yourself up to the fountain, absorb it, and Gap Jump across to the other wall. Climb down and speak to Virgil. Make sure to speak to him twice, for he will give you the Death Blade relic.

Continue to the left and absorb the fountain up top and follow the path ahead. Listen to Charon talk, then pull the switch ahead to raise the bridge. A swarm of Undead Minions and Pests will appear. Take care of them the same way you did the other times and pull the switch again. Use the bridge to get over to the other side and double jump over to the ledge. Absorb the fountain up ahead and slide down the pole.

Kill the Guardian Minions and turn the crank to raise the platform.

Land and meet a new enemy, Guardian Minion. Use your light and heavy attack string to defeat him, blocking or dodging his two-hit string. He sometimes will parry your attacks, but no need to worry about that since you can cancel out of the stun by dodging. When he raises his sword and glows red, run away or dodge his oncoming attack as it's unblockable. You will face another one after the first, with the Undead Minions along with him. Make sure you don't do too much damage to the Guardian Demon because you can initiate a Finisher for good XP.

After defeating the second group, a crank will appear in the middle of the area. Rotate it so it goes up, absorbing the fountain on the left, then jumping onto the ledge with the giant door. Open the door and proceed forward, destroying the boxes and absorbing the fountains on the left and right. Continue forward and speak to Virgil, then defeat the next wave of enemies in the middle of the path.

Page 7: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Judge your first Damned Soul. As you're wall climbing on Charon, be sure to grab the Charon's Oar relic to your right.

Up ahead, you will encounter your first Damned Soul, Pontius Pilate. Choose your judgment, then open the gate ahead. After watching the cut-scene, three Guardian Demons and Undead Minions will have to be defeated in order to continue. After defeating them, go out the other side; absorbing the fountain and saving your game.

Grab the wire and climb across, using Wire Hang. There will be a short cut-scene and the wire will be cut by a Guardian Demon. As you latch onto the ledge, watch out for the fire blowing up from below. Climb up and head to the right. Continue onto the right and grab your first Relic, Charon's Oar.

Charge and push the slider onto the platform and jump up to judge Orpheus.

Climb back down and jump up into the area on the left. Turn the crank ahead to move the platform backward near the slant on the right. Grab the slider, put it on the slant, and charge the slider to push it so it will fly up, landing on the platform. Use the slider and jump up on the ledge. Watch the cut-scene and judge the Damned Soul, Orpheus, up on top of the ledge. Climb up the wall and enter the River of Archeron.

River of Archeron

Quickly climb up with the Asterian Beast and latch onto the Scythe Swing orb to swing towards Limbo.

Upon climbing the wall, you will face another swarm of Undead Minions and Throne Minions. Defeat them like you did with the last swarm. Pests will spawn as well after some time. After defeating all of them, an Asterian Beast will appear, along with some Undead Minions.

Defeat him like you did the first time and gain control of him. Then go toward the head of the ship and activate a QTE. After watching the small cut-scene, climb up the wall with the Asterian Beast, but be quick about it as the wall is crumbling. Get on top of the ledge, latch on, and swing across into Limbo.

Limbo

Page 8: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

The First Circle of Hell: Limbo.

As you enter Limbo, save your game at the Beatrice Statue, then talk with Virgil. Proceed forward, climbing down the wall and landing on the lower section of the tower. You will encounter a new enemy, Charred Minion. Grab it and throw it into the destructible wall. Go inside and go outside through the first left, where you will fight a Guardian Demon. Kill it and absorb the fountain for a Judas Coin.

Now go back inside and push the boat head off the tower, clearing the path ahead for a Beatrice Stone fountain and a new relic, Eyes of St. Lucia. Go back down the path and open the door to your right. A small cut-scene will happen, introducing you to the Unbaptized Babies. They are basically the same as the Undead Minions, automatically killed when you grab them by Judging them. Go out the door to the left and proceed up the path.

Go into the opening on the left. There is a ground-saw going up and down the path, which you will have to avoid and time it so you can open the gate without getting hit. Once you've done that, go outside and judge the DamnedSoul, Electra. Go back inside the tower and go up the path, absorbing the fountains and opening the gate. As you go outside, continue around the path and defeat the Charred Minion, Undead Minions and Guardian Demons.

Throw the Charred Minion into the group of Undead Minions to blow them all up. Unbaptized Babies will appear after defeating them. Defeat the babies and open the gate up ahead.. Go inside and speak with Virgil. On the left and right of the ramp, you can destroy those two statues for some extra Souls. Go up the ramp to initiate a cut-scene. Activate the switch to open up the claw covering a Scythe Swing orb. Latch onto the orb and swing over to a boss battle.

King Minos

Page 9: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Latch onto the Scythe Swing orb on either side to avoid King Minos' breath attack.

After having a nice talk with King Minos, the boss battle begins. King Minos will start off spiking tentacles up from the ground, which you can just run from. He then will lean back, and blow some sort of green gas within the area. When this happens, quickly go to one side of the area and latch onto the wall.

As you avoid his breath attack by clinging onto the wall, he will stick out his head and wonder where you are. This is your chance to strike his face, which will stun him and expose the bottom part of his body. Try to get in as many hits as you can before he recovers. King Minos will recover and summon Undead Minions to aid him, which should be no problem for you. He now will use his left arm to attack you along with his tentacles.

He will now either do a ground pound that emits a vertical shockwave or an arm sweep which you will have to time your jump to avoid that attack. He also will slam his palm down, which you will need to avoid. After avoiding his palm attack, go next to it and execute a Finisher. Finish the Finisher sequence to slash his eyes to stun him and expose the bottom part of his body again.

After doing your damage, he now will summon a group of Unbaptized Babies and Guardian Demons. Upon defeating them, King Minos will now attack more frequently with his left arm. Wait until King Minos does his breath attack again, latch onto one of the sides to avoid it, and attack him when he is searching for you. Stun him for the last time and have Dante execute the final Finisher.

Rappel down the rope and build momentum by running side to side so that your scythe can reach the structure.

Once you defeat King Minos, you will receive a new relic, Tail of Minos. Proceed forward where he had slipped to oblivion and latch onto the Scythe Swing orb above. Swing over to the ledge and enter through the cave. Absorb the fountain and save your game if needed.

Rappel down the rope and get familiar with Rappelling and building momentum. Swing to the right, rope to rope and jump onto the pole. Jump off onto the next rope and build momentum to get close to the glowing structure to the right and break it with your light attack while holding onto the rope. Jump to the next rope

Page 10: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

and defeat the spawned Pests. Build momentum and jump to the pole on the right and slide down. Go towards the Damned Soul to initiate a cut-scene. After the cut-scene, judge the Damned Soul, Francesca da Polenta and make your way into Lust.

The Second Circle of Hell: Lust Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors Contents Entering Lust Elevator Cleopatra Marc Antony Descent into Gluttony Cerberus

Entering Lust

When you're on the strip, make sure to get all the items at the statues mentioned. The camera will zoom in like this near a ledge.

Upon entering Lust, a cut-scene will ensue. After the cut-scene, proceed forward on the bridge, avoiding any electric shocks traveling on the strip. Go to the left side of the 3rd rotating panel and climb down the wall to find a fountain to absorb. Then hug the right side in between the 2nd and 3rd rotating panels and climb down the wall to find a Beatrice Stone.

After absorbing the fountain, climb back up and go towards the end of the strip to talk to Virgil. After talking with him, do not try to enter the purple hurricane or it will knock you back and damage you. Instead, go back and go towards the third statue on the left. Run south of the statue in the small space and the camera should zoom in, revealing a wall you can climb down. Climb down and gap jump to obtain a new relic, Filippo's Rage.

Now go back up and head to the rotating panel at the end of the strip. Time pulling the switch so that the panel will rotate and toss the electric shock back. Once the electric shock reaches the end of the strip, it will clash into the hurricane and open up an entrance.

Quickly run towards the opening when the electric shock hits the tornado and prepare to face the Temptress of Lust.

Quickly run towards the end of the bridge and Double Jump into the entrance, landing on a platform inside. Once you're inside, you will be introduced to a new enemy, Temptress of Lust. Attack her normally, but keep an eye out when she dodges to the side, as she will dodge your attack and slice you for two hits. As soon as you see her dodge, time your block to guard and use your Repayment skill on her oncoming attack. Repeat this pattern to easily defeat them.

Page 11: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

After defeating the first one, you will face three more Temptress of Lust. Righteous Path also works well on these girls. Once you defeated all of them, go to the left of the snake head and crank the handle to open the mouth of the snake head. Release the crank and attack the glowing fangs to make the snake head reveal it's tongue, then turn the crank again so the mouth goes all the way up. Jump on top of the tongue and the platform above to find Beatrice and a cut-scene.

Once Beatrice ascends up, talk to Virgil twice and receive a new relic, Tristan's Desire. Pull the statue away from the wall, absorb the fountain to the right and left and save your game at the Beatrice Statue on the bottom left corner. Pull the switch next to the Beatrice Statue to make the platform rise up. On the top right, absorb the fountain to obtain a Judas Coin. Go towards the top right and absorb another fountain and pull the switch next to it. Jump on the circular platform and the elevator will activate going up.

Elevator

On your way up, Cleopatra will punch through the wall and destroy the platform you're riding on. Latch onto the orb to avoid falling to your death.

As you are ascending up, Temptress of Lust will spawn along with Guardian Demons. Once you've defeated them all, Cleopatra will punch through the wall, so avoid being in the middle area.

She then will slam the platform and destroy it, by that time you will be able to latch onto a Scythe Swing Orb to avoid falling. In the next section, a swarm of The Undead Minions will spawn, allowing you to accumulate a good amount of exp towards your Holy or Unholy meter. Temptress of Lust will also spawn along with the Undead Minions as well. Once you've defeated them, a mid boss fight will ensue.

Cleopatra

When Cleopatra's fingers are on the platform, this is your chance to stun her to raise the ledges on the right and left.

Cleopatra will spawn out Unbaptized Babies from her...chest...and the Undead Minions will spawn from the platform as well. Notice that the camera zooms in on her left hand.

Page 12: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Go to the left ledge first, pull the switch, then go to the right and activate the fire from the snake's mouth.

Attack her left hand to stun her so that the platforms near the switches on the side will rise up. Go towards the left side switch first and activate it to turn the snake heads towards Cleopatra. Be fast though, as the snake heads near the switch will breathe fire if you take too long.

After turning the switch, go back down and attack her left hand again until she is stunned once more. This time, go towards the right side and pull the switch. The right side switch will activate the snake heads pointing towards Cleopatra and will start to breathe fire onto her chest area. After the snake heads breath fire on her, Cleopatra will escape. In the next section, you will face Pests and Temptress of Lusts. Defeat the Pests with your Scythe grab and the Temptress of Lusts the same way you fought them the first time.

As you defeat them, the elevator will finally stop. Go towards the fountain near the top right, absorb it, and slide down the pole. You will land in front of another Damned Soul to judge, Paolo Malatesta. After casting your judgment upon him, climb back up the pole and head towards the top left path this time. Absorb the health and magic fountains and climb down the wall. Climb down and gap jump to the right, avoiding the electric currents along the way.

Pull yourself up to the ledge above and go to your left to meet another Damned Soul, Semiramis. Judge her, then hang yourself off the ledge and drop down to obtain another relic, Arrow of Paris. Double Jump towards the wall to the left and latch onto it, then climb back up. Save your game at the Beatrice Statue if you want and then head towards the left to find a Judas Coin fountain. After obtaining it, climb up the wall near the statue to find Beatrice yet again. After watching the cut-scene, Cleopatra will appear, mock you, and then send Marc Antony on you for the next boss fight.

Marc Antony

Cleopatra's guy friend: Marc Antony.

Page 13: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

At the start, Antony will have a few attacks. He has a kick attack that will get you off of him as you are barraging him with attacks and a four-hit attack string with the last hit being unblockable. Cleopatra will also assist Antony in battle by slamming her fist into the ground near the north part of the platform.

After damaging Antony enough, Cleopatra will start to heal Antony. The camera will semi-zoom in onto her left hand, which means you will need to attack her left hand to stop this rejuvenation process. As the green aura is around Antony, it will automatically knock you back. Avoid him and attack her left hand that's grabbing the area you both are on.

Once you've gotten Antony at about half his health, he will start using his shield which will either create a shockwave or shield him from your Holy Blasts. He also will use his shield to attack you and has a new unblockable jumping sword attack. Dodge or avoid these new attacks and guard and use Repayment on his four-hit attack string whenever possible.

When Antony is near death, he will gain another unblockable attack, this time a running jumping attack. He will also counter attack you automatically as you are attacking him while he is shielding himself. Continue your offense with Righteous Path and light/heavy attack strings until you defeat Antony. Upon defeating Antony, you will receive a new relic, Antony's Standard.

Cleopatra will start mourning over his death and a quicktime event will initiate. Once you've finished the sequence, you will receive a new magic spell, Lust Storm.

Descent into Gluttony After receiving Lust Storm, the platform will start going down. Defeat the wave of Undead Minions and Guardian Demons, and you'll notice the platform will start to crumble by falling rocks above. It will first break on the right. Then more Guardian Demons will appear and upon defeating them, the platform will start crumbling left, then the bottom.

After the last piece of the platform is destroyed, you will fall and will need to latch onto a Scythe Swing Orb to avoid falling to your doom. Latch on to the orb, then keep swinging across to the other orbs avoiding the lightning current in the middle.

Swing onto the platform and talk to Virgil. Continue onto the path and absorb the two fountains. Then slide down the pole, avoiding the fire spewing out of the walls, as they do a grip of damage if you come in contact with it. Jump down onto the rope and build momentum to swing and jump towards the pole on the left. Slide down the pole and swing on the rope to build momentum to destroy the glowing structure on the left.

Once you've destroyed it, jump and latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb and swing towards the next pole. Slide down and dismount off onto the rope and make your way across, avoiding the fire. Jump off and talk to Virgil. Save your game at the Beatrice Statue, then slide down the pole to encounter Cerberus.

Cerberus

When you are battling Cerberus, bait him into attacking you, then avoid the strike and use the orbs on the ground to make a flame pillar, stunning one of the heads.

Page 14: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

As the battle starts, Cerberus will start spitting excrement at you. Dodge these projectiles and head towards one of the four orb-like things on the ground. Activate it to have it spew fire upwards and bait one of the heads to strike at you while activating it. Dodge the strike and start beating down on the head as it's stunned by the flame. After doing enough damage to one of the heads, the head will fall, allowing you to initiate a Finisher. Repeat this for the other heads and you will defeat Cerberus. After defeating Cerberus, you will attain a new relic, Azarael's Apprentice. Continue forward and enter Gluttony.

The Third Circle of Hell: Gluttony Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors

Be careful not to fall off the ledges as you are going around Gluttony.

Head straight on the path, being careful not to fall off the ledge.Watch as dust forms on the ground...that means that there is a new enemy, a Gorger Worm, waiting to ambush you as you walk over it. Absorb the fountain near the first Gorger Worm to acquire another Judas Coin. Absorb the magic and health fountain ahead and descend down the pole. Hop off the pole and defeat the three Gorger Worms and Undead Minions horde.

Avoid the Gorger Worm ambush if you can. As you enter the mirror in the area below, you'll face a new foe, Glutton.

Use your new Lust Storm to help protect you from being ganged up and attack the Gorger Worms with the Holy Cross from a range, but not too far that they will burrow back underground. Continue on the path ahead and judge another Damned Soul, Ciacco. After judging him, save your game at the Beatrice Statue and jump through the mouth.

Make your way jumping platform to platform. Defeat the Pests to open the mouth on the left, revealing a Damned Soul to be judged, Clodia. Now go back towards the rope, jump up and make your way across the pit. Jump into the mouth ahead and talk to Virgil. Make sure to talk to him until you get a new relic, Ciacco's Bile. Proceed forward and defeat the mix of Undead Minions, Gorger Worms and Guardian Demons to open

Page 15: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

the path up ahead. Absorb the two fountains and go through the mirror-like entrance. A cut scene will initiate.

After watching the cut-scene, you will encounter a new enemy, Glutton. The Glutton has Super Armor and will spit excrement once you are near it. Use your Holy Cross at far range to weaken him, and then attack him with your light/heavy attack strings until the Finisher icon appears above his head to judge him. After defeating the Glutton, you will fall through the floor and appear on the left ledge, wit the whole area crumbling down, forming a puzzle that you must solve.

Mirror Puzzle

Follow the steps below to solve this odd puzzle. Remember that the square that comes up in the middle is a platform you can get on to jump over to the southern end of the

area.

1. Go through the 1st mirror ahead. 2. As you end up at the top right corner mirror, go straight activate the switch then go to the left mirror. 3. You'll end up going through the 1st mirror, which now has been rotated. Flip the switch to have a

platform appear in the middle, then go back through the 1st mirror. 4. Quickly run onto the platform in the middle and jump across, landing on the bottom ledge. 5. Now time going into the mirror on the right to land on the revolving platform on floating on the left.

Then let the platform make it's way to the mirror it first came out from.

Fully charge the slider from it's starting point and quickly get onto the rope again. Jump towards the ledge before the flames shoot back up. After emerging out from the dark

path, grab the ledge and shimmy yourself to the small opening on the right for a new relic.

Upon exiting, go back into the mirror. Make your way around and talk to Virgil. Now go back out and keep going forward until you reach a fountain and a Beatrice Statue to save your game. Climb down the pole and dismount onto the rope.

Build momentum to jump onto the pole to the left, but don't slide down yet. Climb up and pull yourself up onto the ledge to absorb a fountain and a new relic, Octavian's Gold. Now slide down the pole onto the hang wire and make your way across the next rope. Land down onto the ground, then grab the slider, charge it and push it towards the last flame pillar.

Once the slider covers it, quickly grab the rope and build momentum to jump on top of the ledge. Destroy the glowing structure, slide down the pole and make your way across via hang wire, avoiding the spewing fire from the wall. Drop down, latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb and jump onto rope after rope, avoiding the fire from the walls again. Slide down the pole and continue ahead in the darkness.

Page 16: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Jump up and grab the high ledge, but do not pull yourself up yet. Shimmy your way all the way to the right, uncovering a secret area with a new relic, Crown of Carthage. Shimmy your way back to the left and pull yourself up the ledge. Go straight and another cut scene will initiate. You will now be entering Greed.

The Fourth Circle of Hell: Greed Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors

After watching, talk to Virgil. Make your way across the ledges and go up the vertical platform. Activate the switch in the middle. A container filled with lava above will now spill more lava into the pit. Pests and Fire Minions will spawn. Defeat them quickly before the lava rises to the surface. Once you've defeated them, pull the switch in the middle again to have the platform swing over to cross it. Save your game at the statue and absorb the fountain.

Continue on ahead by jumping onto the rotating gears. Jump to the left set of gears, then jump onto the top middle gear. You will see a Damned Soul to your right. While you're on the top middle gear, jump outwards towards the screen, then double jump to the right ledge where the Damned Soul is and grab the ledge. Pull yourself up and judge the Damned Soul, Tarpeia. Now fall back down on the right set of gears and jump towards the left set of gears so you can enter through the black gate.

Enter the black gate and face the Hoarder Wasters. After passing through the closing spiked door, time your jumps over the spiked extensions of the windmill to find Gessius

Florus.

You will now meet a new enemy, Hoarder Waster. Hoarder Waster’s primary attack will be him swinging his mace rapidly in a cyclone-like style. Using Righteous Path will easily knock him out of it, as you cannot attack him during that attack. You can also try risking countering his cyclone attack to knock him out of it if you want. After defeating the first one, two more plus Pests will spawn. Defeat this swarm of enemies and a switch will appear in the middle of the area. Pull it so three ledges from above will come crashing down.

Jump and pull yourself onto the ledge above and absorb the fountain for a Judas Coin. Pull the switch next to the fountain to open the spiked doors up top. Run back down to the lower floor and pull the switch there to bring down the platforms, then quickly pull yourself back up to the upper ledge and get on the right platform first to find a new relic, Demon's Wing. Now go back to the lower area and repeat pulling the switches like before, but this time going onto the middle platform and use your dodge to quickly roll through the closing spiked doors.

Go up and pull the switch in the middle of the circular platform. Descend down and you will find a Beast Tamer pulling a switch to make the spiked windmill rotate. Destroy the Pests and make your way by jumping across one platform at a time. Judge the Damned Soul, Gessius Florus, on one of the platforms.

Page 17: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Pull the switch where the black gate is on top to open up the cage in the middle with the Wasted Gold relic. In the room with the closing walls, run around the room and make

the Guardian Demons follow you into the saws.

Then head back towards the black gate and open it to reveal a switch. Pull the switch to stop the windmill from revolving and lifting a cage in the middle containing a new relic, Wasted Gold. Go back to the black gate and go through the following black gate. Absorb the fountains to replenish yourself and save your game at the Beatrice Statue.

In the next room, a Beast Tamer will escape out the door. When you turn the crank in the middle, you will activate four saws on the ground and the walls will start closing in on you. Lure or knock the Guardian Demons into the saws after they spawn and quickly turn the crank in the middle to open the left gate before the top and bottom wall flattens you into a pancake.

Go out the gate as soon as you open it and avoid the Asterian Beast's flame breath as you go through. Make use of the Exploding Minions by grabbing them and throwing them into the Asterian Beast and Throne Minion enemies. Once you take control of the Asterian Beast, open the giant door and watch out for the saws and Exploding minions as you open the black gate.

Climb to the right of the wall and collect the Judas Coin and Coin of Plutus Relic. Face and defeat the Throne Minion after swinging onto the hang wire and dismounting off

onto the platform.

Go on and talk to Virgil next to the wall ahead. Climb up the wall, but don't go all the way up. Instead, climb right and fall down to the fountain containing a Judas Coin. Climb back up and go further to the right to obtain a new relic, Coin of Plutus. Go back the way you came and climb all the way up. Latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb and jump towards the hang wire, but don't jump too far that you'll end up not grabbing it and melting in the lava below.

Make your way across the hang wire and land next to the circular platform where you'll face a new enemy, Throne Minion. Use your Holy Cross to poke at him from afar, then dodge his running slash attack. Guard and counter hit two-hit string and avoid his flaming projectile attack. Once you've defeated him, the gates will now reopen. Pull the switch ahead to lower the wall next to the circular platform. Go back to the platform and beat the 2 Hoarder Wasters and Pests that spawn.

Page 18: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Jump over to the next moving platform before the one you're on tilts down. The next platform will then bring you to the Plutus Chamber.

As soon as you beat them, the platform ahead will spill lava to the area below and will make the platform you are standing on tilt. Jump across to the next platform to face Temptresses of Lust. Kill them and you will be taken to the next area of this lava filled hellhole.

Absorb the fountains and pull the switch on the middle platform. A fireball will shoot out of the platform and blast away a pile of bodies, revealing a turning crank. Head towards it and Pests and a Throne Minion will appear. To go through the Throne Minions quickly, you can easily kill them by knocking them into the lava if you want. Defeat them all and turn the crank clockwise first and pull the switch in the middle to lower the right side tower, revealing two fountains that contain a Judas Coin.

Turn the crank counter clockwise and pull the switch in the middle again to lower the left tower to proceed ahead. Save your game at the Beatrice Statue if needed. Open the black gate and absorb the fountains along the path. Pull the switch on the circular platform to descend to the lower area and talk to Virgil.

Plutus God of Wealth/Plutus Chamber

Plutus, the God of Wealth. Oooh, shiny! Defeat the wave of enemies and use the crank to rotate the platforms being created by the statue until it has created the two correct

platforms for you to use to get on the plate above.

After talking to Virgil, you will face a mix of Undead Minions, Hoarder Wasters, Temptresses of Lust and exploding minions. Massacre them all and the giant gold statue will shine a light towards the circular platform in the middle, rising up platforms from the ground.

As you may notice, the platforms will start to crumble after some time and some platforms will have arms sticking up on a certain side, blocking your way from jumping off. Turn the crank to have the statue arise more structures so that you will be able to jump on a small structure, then on a taller structure with arms sticking up on the left or right side that won't block your path having to jump onto the plate of gold up top. Make your way up the statue and open the black gate. Go through and cling onto the hang wire. Make your way across and talk to Virgil.

Page 19: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

After having a little chat, latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb and swing across to grab onto the wall. Climb up and defeat the horde of Temptresses of Lust, exploding minions, Throne Minions and Glutton. Once they're all done for, the gates ahead will open. Absorb the fountain on the left, and then go through the right entrance. Latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb and swing over to the rotating gears. Annoying Pests will appear, so take care of them with your Holy Cross first.

Avoid the pillars slamming down on the gears by using your dodge to quickly move forward under them and jump across towards the black gate. Climb up the wall and go left. Land on the ground and judge the Damned, Fulvia. Save your game and open the black gate ahead. Pull the switch to descend down and pull the switch on the left side of the platform to raise up a platform. Go towards it to find an Asterian Beast, which will pound the floor to lower the area you’re in. Defeat it the same way as usual, but be cautious as the area is smaller than previous fights with it.

The first Beast Tamer will knock you off the Asterian Beast automatically. Once you're back to where Plutus is, drag the giant box to the right where the square indentation

is.

Gain control and a Beast Tamer will come down, pulling the switch to the right and will raise the area you’re in. He then will try and steal away your Asterian Beast. You will not be able to prevent him from stealing away your Asterian Beast, so when he knocks you off, you must do enough damage to the Asterian Beast again to execute a Finisher to knock the Beast Tamer off.

Once you've gained control again, defeat the Beast Tamer first before going after the Throne Minions. Once they're done with, have the Asterian Beast push the giant block of gold to create a path for you up ahead and climb up the wall. Climb your way left and drop down to the Statue Structure puzzle area. four Throne Minions will spawn, but you need not worry since riding on the Asterian Beast makes you practically invincible. Keep an eye out for a Beast Tamer appearing out of nowhere though.

After defeating them all, the gold statue will create a box platform to the left. Pull it and set it towards the square indentation on the floor to the right before it crumbles completely. This will lower the giant statue. Now, climb up on the right wall and gap jump over to the left wall. Climb up the wall and make your way to the left. Gap jump twice towards the left and jump down to the Wheel of Fortune area. Slaughter the wave of Throne Minions and Beast Tamers.

Alighiero After defeating the enemies, go towards the wheel and push it off the wall. Dante will now have to face his own father, Alighiero.

Page 20: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Dante, meet your father: Alighiero. Avoid being near Aligiero when he unleashes his Sins of the Father attack and time your jump to avoid the flames emitted from it.

Alighiero will send out a flying cross to assist him during battle. Guard and counter it, sending it back to his father. Avoid his slow strikes by dodging them and damage him until he kneels down. Activating Lust Storm will help out a great deal as well. Once he kneels down, he will release souls that will refill your magic. Continue attacking him and watch out for a new attack where he plants a cross to the ground that will emit shockwaves. This is a good thing actually, because as the shockwaves come out, you can guard them and counterattack Alighiero to stun him and do good damage. Repeat this tactic over and over. As Alighiero is stunned and kneels down again, he will charge up a new attack. Jump over the explosion since you cannot block it. It is also possible to knock him out of his animation of this new attack as well, such as hitting him with a counterattack option. He now will use that attack along with throwing out 3 spinning crosses instead of one and other random strikes as well. Guard and counterattack the spinning crosses just like before and continue your onslaught. As Alighiero is defeated, Dante will gain a new magic spell, Sins of the Father and a new relic, Eye of Alighiero. Proceed forward to the black gate and pull yourself up on the left ledge, gaining a new relic, Hoarder's Purse. Save your game if you want and head on in the black gate. Pull the switch in the middle to travel across and use your Holy Cross to kill all the Pests that spawn ahead. Defeat the Undead Minions and Hoarder Wasters and absorb the fountains around.

Pull the switch in the middle to descend down and go on ahead. Slide down the pole, dismount and latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb. Swing towards another pole and slide down to a rope. Build momentum and attack the glowing structure and jump towards another Scythe Swing Orb and swing to the last pole to enter Anger.

The Fifth Circle of Hell: Anger Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors

The 5th Circle of Hell: Anger. After swinging onto the platform, use the slider as a stepping stone for a Judas Coin up on the right and push it onto the circular platform behind you.

As you enter Anger, talk to Virgil. After talking with him, go forward and jump across to use the hang wire to make your way to a Beatrice Statue. Run towards the right to face Undead Minions, Pests and two Gorger Worms.

Use your new Sins of the Father magic to help you fight the group. Go through the lowered gate and jump onto the floating platform ahead. Quickly jump towards the Scythe Swing Orb as the platform will sink the

Page 21: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

longer you stand on it. Latch on and swing across. Pull the slider to the right wall and pull yourself up to obtain a Judas Coin. Jump back down and push the slider onto the platform to the south. Go down and talk to Virgil. Talk to him twice to obtain a new relic, Medusa's Call.

Now go to the left and climb up the wall. Climb your way to the right, drop down and absorb the fountain. Get back onto the wall and go left, slide down and gap jump across the pit. Drop down to face Fire Minions, exploding minions and Temptresses of Lust. Defeat them and then use your Holy Cross to destroy the right glowing gate. Jump over the pit and judge the Damned Soul, Boudica. Judge her, then head to the left path and grab onto the hang wire. Make your way all across the wire and drop down for two fountains.

Get on the hang wire again and go back, then drop down to the platform below and fight Guardian Demons and Throne Minions. Make sure to judge all of the enemies here as there will be quite a few that spawn for an excellent total amount of EXP. After defeating them, the platform will rise up. Pull yourself up and absorb the fountain for a Judas Coin. Continue along the path and climb up the wall. Save your game if needed and absorb the two fountains to your left. When you approach the crank ahead, a cut scene will initiate.

Push the gear all the way to the right to head on up. On the 5th floor, align yourself with the middle glowing block and repeatedly use your light air attack to destroy all three

blocks at the same time.

After watching the cut scene, judge the Damned Soul, Hecuba, then push the crank forward to extinguish the flames and lower the flame pillar all the way down. Pull yourself up to the right ledge and quickly push the gear on the right to the left, so that you don’t allow the flame pillar in the middle to reach the same level of the platform. If you are not fast enough, the holes on the floor will sprout out fire, killing you in one hit.

Once you’ve done that, the platform will rise up and then you will have to face Fire Minions. Use your Holy Cross or Righteous Path magic to solidify them. Defeat all three and push the next gear to the right.

On the 3rd floor, you will face exploding minions and Fire Minions. Toss the exploding minion into the glowing block that’s blocking the gear path, defeat the rest of the enemies and pull the gear to the right.

On the 4th floor, you will then face exploding minions again. Throw one into the middle to break another glowing block blocking the gear path, then pull it to the left after defeating the other exploding minions.

On the 5th floor, you will have to break three glowing blocks that interfere with the gear’s path, with two Fire Minions and an Exploding Minion. Defeat the minions first and jump up where the middle block is and attack with your light attack string in the air, which has enough range to destroy all glowing blocks. Pull the gear to the right and as the platform rises up a bit, pull it to the left.

At the very top floor, you will need to break two glowing blocks to finish this ordeal. The bad part is that exploding minions will spawn left and right. For this part, you will need to slowly pull or push the gear to the right little by little, while defeating the exploding minions. Pull or push the gear slowly to the right as you grab and throw the exploding minions into one another.

When the gear is all the set all the way to the right, a ledge with a switch will lower down to the wall on the left. Run quickly to the wall, avoiding the exploding minions and flames that sprout up. Pull the switch to lower the pillar on the right side of the switch. Proceed forward and go all the way to the right, jumping on top of the ledges for a fountain containing a Judas Coin and a new Relic. Go back and speak with Virgil and

Page 22: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

then slide down the two poles. Drop down and judge the Damned Soul, Filippo Argenti. Judge him, then save your game at the Beatrice Statue to the right.

Shoot down the Fiends with your Holy Cross while traveling on the raft. At the end of the marsh, you'll find yourself riding on Phlegyas this whole time!

Jump onto the raft, entering the Styx Marsh. Defeat the Fiends with your Holy Cross as you are crossing the river. Once you are at the end of the river, you will realize that you were on top of Phlegyas’ head the whole time and will have to complete a quicktime event.

Once you complete it, you will get on top of a platform and fight the Undead Minions, with Phlegyas helping out. Avoid Phlegyas’ attacks and judge or defeat the Undead Minions. After defeating the Undead Minions, exploding minions and a Hoarder Waster will spawn. Throw the exploding minions into the Hoarder Waster to make quick work out of it and you will lower the gate ahead. A cut scene will initiate.

After that, absorb the two fountains and latch yourself onto the Scythe Swing Orb. Swing across to the next platform and pull the switch on the right. It will form a bridge up ahead, but the gate ahead is blocked. Unbaptized babies and Temptress of Lust will spawn.

Defeat the wave of demons on each structure while avoiding Phlegyas' painful attacks. At the very last section, wait until Phlegyas hits the right wall after defeating the

demons, revealing a switch.

Phlegyas will help them out here as well, so judge or defeat the babies normally and kill the Temptress of Lust. After that wave of enemies, a Glutton, Guardian Demon and more Temptress of Lust will spawn. Annihilate them all, then go through the gate and absorb the two fountains. Go back and pull the switch to form the bridge and quickly cross it.

Over here, Pests and a Guardian Demon will spawn. Defeat them and a large group of Guardian Demons will appear. Phlegyas will also attack you here, now with a flame breath covers the whole area and an attack where he will hit the wall to the right. If you are lucky, Phlegyas will damage the Guardian Demons for you enough to where the Finisher icon will appear so you can judge them for a crazy amount of exp.

After the group of Guardian Demons, Throne Minions and a Guardian Demon will spawn. Lure them all the way to the left so that they won’t get hit by Phlegyas so you can damage them yourself enough to judge them. Once you kill them all, wait until Phlegyas destroys the wall to the right. A switch will be revealed, but Throne Minions will appear.

City of Dis

Page 23: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Not only can you control Asterian Beasts, you will now be able to control Phlegyas in the City of Dis!

Pound and stomp away at the Undead at the end of the section.

Kill the Throne Minions and then pull the switch. A cut-scene will occur. After watching it, you will now be in control of Phlegyas. At this point, you will just have to move forward slowly until the next area.

Once you’re in the next area, you will be able to battle with Phlegyas, which is just basically an advanced Asterian Beast. Break through the wall in front of you with your fists and slowly move forward while also breaking down the bridge ahead and the pillars to the side for extra souls. Once you’re at the end, minions will spawn from the ground. You will have to keep stomping on them, in which case Phlegyas will eventually destroy the area and then both you and he will start to fall.

After the cut-scene, you will fall onto a rope. Swing across to the next rope. When you reach the 3rd rope, build momentum and destroy the glowing structure ahead. After destroying it, climb up the rope and pull yourself up, where you will find a Beatrice Statue and a crank to the left. Head towards the crank and defeat the Undead Minions to lower the gates. Turn the crank to have the wooden spikes up ahead retract back into the wall.

Quickly rappel down the rope and build momentum so you can jump towards the pole to the left before the spikes come out again. Slide down the pole and dismount off onto a hang wire. Make your way to the left on the hang wire and drop down to the next rope below. Rappel down the rope, build momentum and destroy the Pests to the right. Then jump towards the rope to the left and destroy the next set of Pests.

Build momentum and jump towards the next pole, avoiding the fire coming out of the wall by timing your jump. Slide down and then time your dismount to avoid the fire coming out from below you. Repeat this twice until you see an opening on the wall with a statue. A mysterious light will shine and it will damage the statue. Drop down to the platform below to enter Heresy.

The Sixth Circle of Hell: Heresy Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors

The 6th Circle of Hell: Heresy. It's going to be a long circle. Once you reach the Heretic, memorize his attack patterns and use Repayment on his wake up attack.

When you land on the platform, speak with Virgil. Absorb the two fountains to replenish your mana and health, then proceed through the black gate. Upon entering, you will have to fight a Throne Minion in order to go forward. After defeating him, pull the switch to the left to have the flames ahead dissipate. Another Throne Demon will spawn, along with Fire Minions. Use your Holy Cross to solidify the Fire Minions first and then destroy the Throne Minion.

Page 24: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Fire Guardians will now spawn, so use your Holy Cross or Righteous Path to take care of them as well. The wall to the left will now be broken. Climb up the wall and make your way to the right, then drop down to the ground and head towards the black gate. A gate from behind you will rise up and a Throne Minion will come out to pull the switch up ahead. Make your way as fast as possible to him before you get fried to a crisp.

Defeat the Throne Minion and the Undead Minions that appear, but be careful not to touch the flames in front or behind you, which will result in death. After defeating them, pull the switch and go back to absorb the two fountains, one of which will contain a Judas Coin. As you go towards the black gate, another Throne Minion will appear to pull the switch, so after he pulls it, take care of him and pull the switch back to rid the flames. Go through the black gate and speak with Virgil, then slide down the pole. Drop down to the next pole and onto a hang wire. Make your way to the left and drop down.

Judge the Damned Soul, Emperor Frederick II. Absorb the two fountains and proceed forward. A gate from behind you will rise up, where you will have to battle a new enemy, Heretic. Dodge his electric blasts that he sends flying at you and guard and use Repayment his three-hit string. If you knock the Heretic down at anytime, stay away from him and he wakes up with his wand spinning around him and protecting him. After the first Heretic, another will spawn with the Holy Cross immunity spell along with Undead Minions. Judge the Undead Minions by grabbing them and take care of the Heretic normally.

Go through the gate ahead and climb up onto the wall. Gap jump your way towards the right, avoiding the flames bursting out of the walls. Drop down, absorb the two fountains and save your game at the Beatrice Statue. Run to the right and a Throne Demon will spawn along with Fire Guardians.Once you take care of those three, a Heretic with two more Fire Guardians with the Holy Cross immunity will appear. Use your Righteous Path to solidify the Fire Guardians as they materialize into fire since Righteous Path does not count as a Holy Cross attack and destroy them once they’re solidified, then take care of the Heretic.

After the fight, pull the switch to the right to drop lava from a container above which will raise the giant statue in the middle, revealing a passage to a black gate.

As you are climbing on the wall, don't worry about the fountain and relic in the distance, you'll be able to get it later. In the next puzzle room, charge and push the slider so

that it will rise up along with the rising structure in front.

Head into the black gate and climb up onto the wall to your left. You will see a new relic and a fountain in the distance, but you cannot get to it yet. Gap jump across twice to the right and pull yourself up to the ledge. Talk to Virgil and absorb the two fountains. Head into the black gate and pull or push the slider towards the middle platform. You will see another platform ahead start to shake, which is where you will need to charge and push the slider so that it will be on top of the shaking platform just as it rises up, extinguishing the bottom and top flames. Once you’ve done that, jump up towards the ledge ahead and you will have to face three Heretics with the Holy Cross immunity spell. Defeat them and pull the switch to douse out the flames below. Then go to the left and judge the Damned Soul, Cavalcante de Cavalcanti.

Page 25: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Time your gap jump and avoid the burning lava falling from above. When you reach the statue room, pull the switch where the lava container is and push the slider

underneath the handles.

After judging him, climb up onto the wall and gap jump to the left, avoiding the falling lava in between the jumps. Climb down the wall and go through the black gate ahead. Absorb the green and purple fountains to replenish your health and mana, then absorb the fountain ahead for a Judas Coin.

After that, pull the slider back towards the switch in the beginning of the area and pull the switch. The lava container will drop lava, which will raise the giant statue, revealing a black gate a floor above you, behind the statue. Now push the slider into the space where the handles of the lava container are and the gate from where you fought the three Heretics will be risen up.

As the Wisdom of St. Lucia states, it’s time for you to go back, specifically to where you fought the Throne Minion and Fire Guardians. Go back, climb the wall and gap jump twice over again. As you enter the slider puzzle room with the flames, Fiends will appear. Use your Holy Cross or jumping grab to defeat them and go back to the area where Virgil last was. Climb down the wall and gap jump to the left and enter the room where you fought Throne Minion and Fire Guardians.

As you head towards the wall to the right, a Heretic will spawn. After killing it, another Heretic and Fire Minions will spawn, with the Holy Cross immunity spell on each of them. Defeat them, then absorb the two fountains and climb up onto the wall. Gap jump to your right while avoiding the flames spewing out of the walls and enter through the black gate. Get on the rotating platform ahead and defeat the Fiend in the air with your Holy Cross. You will then see another platform moving vertically.

Jump from the 2nd platform to the right for Seal of Epicurus and a Judas Coin. After going through the black gate where the Beatrice Statue is, go down the pole and collect

Federick's Ring and the Judas Coin you saw in the distance earlier.

Defeat the pair of Fiends next to that platform and time your jump onto that platform, avoiding the flames coming out of the wall. Once you’re on that platform, jump to the opening to the right to collect a new relic and a Judas Coin from the fountain. Get back on the platform you just jumped off from, wait until it goes up and then jump towards the opening to the left to judge the Damned Soul, Farinata.

Judge him, then hop back onto the platform. Wait till it goes up again, then jump onto another moving platform to your right. Wait until the platform goes up, then move onto the rotating platform to the left, avoiding the flames. Now pull the switch to extinguish the flames and proceed forward. Grab onto the hang wire and make your way across. Absorb the fountain and pull the switch to have a lava container drop to the bottom of the area, which will have the mysterious light shine onto the statue, destroying it completely.

You will notice the level will start to shake. Go to the right where the statue was and pull yourself up onto the ledge. Save your game at the Beatrice Statue if needed, then go through the black gate. Climb on the

Page 26: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

wall to the left and gap jump across. Drop down to the ground and slide down the pole to the right, which will lead you to the new relic and fountain with a Judas Coin that you could not get to earlier. Climb back up the pole and pull yourself back up onto the ledge. Proceed forward and jump across to the next platform, avoiding the spikes falling to specific parts of the platform, which are marked by the circular marks on the ground.

Run until you reach the end, avoiding the collapsing platform. As you’re at the end, jump onto the next platform ahead, which will start to immediately crumble. Quickly jump to the next platform and watch for the Scythe Swing orb cue to latch onto the orb. As you swing towards the next platform, it will automatically crumble and fall completely, which will make you have to Double Jump in order to reach the wall.

Climb up the wall and pull yourself up to the ledge, then proceed forward. As you continue on, watch out for the collapsing sections of the platforms and jump platform to platform, where you will have to make another Double Jump to reach the next wall. Pull yourself up onto the ledge and run through the narrow passage until you reach outside, with the wall collapsing behind you. Talk to Virgil and save your game at the Beatrice Statue if you want. Slide down the pole to the right and drop down to a hang wire below, entering Violence.

The Eighth Circle of Hell: Fraud Feb 11, 2010 Edit | History | Contributors

Geryon's Back/Malebolge

Page 31: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

As you descend down on Geryon's Back, you will face Malacoda, a mix of a Throne Demon and a Fire Guardian.

As you go descend down with the platform, you will have to fight Pests, crusaders and a Heretic. After defeating them, a few Arch Demons will spawn as well. Once they're done with, save your game at the Beatrice Statue. Watch the cut scene. You will now have to fight a new enemy, Malacoda. Malacoda is almost basically the same as Throne Minion, with the ability to turn invisible like the Fire Minions. Fight him the same way as the Throne Minions, and then use your Holy Cross or Righteous Path to solidify him back.

Once you are done with him, head straight and judge the Damned Soul, Thais the Harlot up on top of the ledge. Then, head through the black gate and pull the switch on the platform to ascend down. Go straight and absorb the fountains to replenish your magic and health. Go through the black gate and you will now have to go through a series of trials in order to proceed forward.

Panderers and Seducers

Bolgia 1: Panderers and Seducers

Get on the moving platform and jump on top of the ledge. You will now have infinite mana to use on the swarm of Undead Minions and Guardian Demons, with a bonus if you kill all enemies within 75 seconds. Upgrade your magic if you can. As the challenge starts, activate Lust Storm and use Sins of the Father repeatedly to defeat all enemies here. After the challenge, cross the bridge, climb up the wall and go to the right. Climb down and then to the left, then to the right and drop off onto the ground. Replenish with the fountains and save if need be.

Flatterers

Page 32: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Bolgia 2: Flatterers

Latch onto the Scythe Swing Orb and swing over to the next challenge. To pass this challenge, you must get a 100 combo. Equipping the Coin of Plutus will help with this challenge, as it increases the combo window Dante has while attacking. During the challenge, continuously use your Light Attack combo string over and over and you will obtain a 100 combo in no time.

Cross the bridge after the challenge and pull the switch at the end. As you go down, jump to the left ledge quickly or else you will fall to your death. Once you've jumped in, save your game and replenish your mana and health as usual then head into the black gate.

Simonists

Bolgia 3: Simonists

Once you've headed in, time your jumps with the ledges ahead and jump onto the challenge area. This time, you will have to get Air Kills, 5 kills in the air to be exact. Weaken the Crusaders and Guardian Demons with a few of your light or heavy attacks first, then hold down your heavy attack button to launch them into the air, then combo them in the air until they are killed. Another way to do this is to damage the Guardian Demons enough until they JUST have the Finisher icon over their head and then launch them with your heavy attack. You then will damage them enough in the air with your air attacks and kill them.

Page 33: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

After the challenge, cross the bridge and make your way forward on the hang wire, slide down the pole, make your way across again with the next hang wire and judge the Damned Soul, Tiresias. Judge her and then save/replenish yourself with the fountains, then head through the black gate.

Sorcerers

Bolgia 4: Sorcerers

After going through the black gate, get on the moving platform and time your jump with the other platform. Jump onto the challenge area, where you will have to stay in the air for 8 seconds to be able to pass through. This is the easiest challenge yet. Just jump up, hit your heavy attack, then your light attack, one after the other to stay in the air.

Once that's done, cross the bridge and attack the glowing gear to release the platform, and then quickly jump towards the left ledge. Save, replenish and head through the black gate.

Politicians

Bolgia 5: Politicians

Jump onto the platform with the crank and turn it so the ledge will rotate pointing towards the challenge area. Run across and jump onto the area. Now you must protect the innocent civilians on the bottom of the

Page 34: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

screen from exploding minions. To pass this, it is recommended that you upgrade your Holy Cross to the max upgrade level. Start off by going into the middle of the area and blast away at the exploding minions.

You can also throw the exploding minions into each other, but be careful as the splash damage from the explosion is quite big. Once you are done, cross the bridge and hang wire your way down 4 levels and drop down to the ground. Save and replenish if you want, then head through the black gate.

Hypocrites

Bolgia 6: Hypocrites

Wait for the claw to reveal the Scythe Swing Orb, latch onto it and swing your way across the ditch. For this challenge, you must defeat all enemies using no magic. Fight the Crusaders, Throne Minions and Guardian Demons like before. Using your Light Attack Focus Attack will help out a lot here as it hits in a full 360, knocking everyone away around you. A Heretic will also spawn with more crusaders with the Holy Cross immunity, but it should be no different than before.

As soon as you defeat the Heretic, an Asterian Beast will break down the bridge and the challenge will be cancelled. Take control of the Asterian Beast and do the quicktime event which will throw Dante up. You must now latch on to the Scythe Swing Orb when cued and then land onto a hang wire. Go towards the left and drop down, saving and replenishing if need be, then head through the black gate.

Thieves

Page 35: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Bolgia 7: Thieves

Get on the moving platform and time your jump with the one up ahead. You must now defeat all enemies as your health slowly depletes. Even though your health is depleting, it depletes very, very slowly, allowing you to judge the Undead Minions, Guardian Demons and Glutton for extra exp.

Treat his fight as a normal fight, cross the bridge and then climb the wall on the left, then slide down and climb your way to the left. Drop down to the ground, save and replenish, then head through the next black gate.

Evil Counselors

Bolgia 8: Evil Counselors

Jump on the moving platform and time your jump over the burning rope. Jump onto the challenge area, where you will not be able to block for the duration of the challenge. For this challenge, you will be using your dodge as your defense. Use your magic if necessary. Once the challenge ends, cross the bridge, slide down the pole onto the rope and go to the right =. Drop down onto the wall and climb your way up. Save and replenish if you want, then go through the black gate.

Sowers of Discord

Page 36: Dante's Inferno Game Guide

Bolgia 9: Sowers of Discord

Jump onto the platform and turn the crank on the other side of the burning rope to rotate the platform. Jump onto the challenge area. You now must now defeat all enemies with a single combo without resetting the combo counter. Make sure you still have your Coin of Plutus equipped. Activate your Lust Storm just in case and continuously use your light attack string over and over on the enemies. Make sure you do not judge any enemies as it will reset your combo meter.

As the challenge ends, cross the bridge, pull the switch ahead and jump to the right as you descend to avoid falling to your death. Judge the Damned Soul, Myrrha and save/replenish your health and mana. Then head through the black gate.

Falsifiers

Final Bolgia: Falsifiers

Jump onto the moving platform and time your jump over the 2 burning ropes. Jump onto the challenge arena for the final ditch, Falsifiers. This last challenge is pretty much just killing all enemies however you want for a long while. Hopefully you will have full Redemption Meter when you're doing this last challenge.

Once you've defeated Malacoda, you will be done with the challenges. Cross the bridge and watch the cut scene.
