Research Title: “Tailored Videos to Promote Self-Care”
Multi-site interventional study on the use of videos and self-care activities following hip surgery.
Data collected from subjects at multiple intervals over 6 months, using 17 instruments.
1984/1985 Center for Disease Control (CDC) and State of Florida Department of Health &
Rehabilitation Services (HRS), Tallahassee, Florida
Clinical researcher on 20 month federal grant to study the relationship between sex-worker’s
sexual behaviors and the relationship to HTLV III status. Interviewed sex-workers after arrest and
on arrival for pre-arraignment incarceration at the Women’s detention facility in Miami. Informed
consent was given for HTLV III testing and gathering survey data on sexual behaviors (safer or
unsafe sexual acts performed with clients prior to arrest).
