Daniel James jr. Maybe one day I will be a hero, but not yet not in a year but maybe 10 or 15 years or maybe even ever. But the people that are considered are what they are, Heroes. With out them what would our history be. Why would people look up to these people if they did something good. That is why they are heroes, not super heroes I just said heroes. One nice day on February 11, 1920 a man who would change the world named Daniel James Jr. was born in Pensacola, Florida. When he was in elementary school he decided and knew he was going to grow up to be a pilot. He never had the best grades or was the smartest in his class, nor the fastest or strongest but he knew he was going to do what he wanted to do. When he grew up to be in collage he went to Virginia State University. His friends gave him a nick name "Chappie" why they called him this was unknown . He decided to take flight school for a couple of years then finally went off to fight in WWII. In 1942 he went to flight school only to train in B-25ʻs, For only two years though. Then in 1950 he joined in one of the fighter wings in the Korean war and fought the whole war. Even after that he was still able to fight so in 1967 he went to fight in the Vietnam war with some of his buddies from the Korean war and even Forest Gump. He fought the whole war and saved a captin from a attack. After that he still managed and didn't want to stop so in 1971 he was promoted from Lieutenant Cornel to a four star general and became the first black general. After he was promoted he was proud and wanted to live a better life. At the time he was 64. And like in every biography comes the sad part. he died in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1975 at only 68 years old. To me he seemed like a younger fellow for being older. But like any "Nothing can stop you from being good." - Noah Schmidt. So in the end he lived to be a good man, a hero and even 68. He may have died young but who ever said he didn't change the shape of our history and came from a kid in Florida that no one knew, to became a hero that every one would know. And his name Daniel James Jr.
