DANCE WORLD CUP 2018 RULESThe Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires announces the Dance World Cup 2018, to be held between 9th and 22nd August, 2018 within the framework of Tango Buenos Aires Festival and World Cup, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, in accordance with the following terms and conditions.The Dance World Cup 2018 consists of the following categories: Tango de Pista and Stage Tango. Participation is open and free for amateurs and professionals.

ORGANIZATIONThe Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires is the highest authority regarding the organization, programming and execution of the Dance World Cup 2018, and will also monitor the compliance of all the terms and conditions stated in these Rules.The Organization will not take any responsibility for delays and unexpected events that may arise for any cause whatsoever at the moment of performance of the different contestants in the different rounds.The Organization reserves the right to record all the stages of the Dance World Cup 2018, by any means known or to be known—including but not

Only the Organization will have the faculty to arrange the contestants’ order of performance and its modality, as well as specify the amount of rounds in which a couple has to participate.

REGISTRATIONRegistration and participation in the Dance World Cup 2018 is free of charge for both categories. People interested in participating must register from 2nd to 31st July, 2018. The Organization will be entitled to extend the enrolment period should they consider it necessary.

Only one registration is allowed per category, although it is not compulsory to register in both categories or with the same partner. Each couple will represent a city. If partners are residents of different cities they will have to choose the place of residence or birth of only one of them. However, in case one member of the couple is Argentine, and the other is foreign, they will be able to represent the foreign city if they have both lived for a minimum of two years in that city and can provide legal proof of it. Otherwise, they will have to represent Argentina.

THE JURYThe Jury of the Dance World Cup 2018 will be appointed by

CHECK-IN

In order to check in, contestants must provide a valid original identity document (Argentina and Mercosur) or passport (rest of the world) to certify the place of birth or residence in the city they decided to represent. No other documents will be accepted. It will be mandatory for participants to show identity documents or passports at every stage of the competition.It is not compulsory for both members of the couple to attend the check-in; it will be enough if only one of them does, carrying the original IDs of both members. Check-in cannot be done by third parties. Photocopies of IDs, expired documents, proofs of document in process or certificates of lost or stolen ID will not be accepted. For Argentine participants the only valid document is the new DNI (card).All the information provided at the time of registration/check-in will be considered a sworn statement. Any contradiction in the information, subsequent to the signature, shall be penalized by the Organization

COMPETITIONThe couples in Tango de Pista will compete in group performances dancing to three songs, recorded or played live, selected by the Organization. In the Stage Tango category, each couple will compete individually, dancing to one song of their choice that may not be longer than four (4) minutes. This music piece must be uploaded during the
