A-level Dance is a dynamic qualificaon which encourages students to develop their creave and intellectual capacity, alongside transferable skills such as team working, communicaon and problem solving. All of these are sought aſter skills by higher educaon and employers and will help them stand out in the workplace whatever their choice of career. This specificaon reflects both historical and current dance pracces, making it more relevant, and inspires a lifelong passion and appreciaon for dance. The course encourages you to reflect upon your own praccal work within the context of professional pracce. It promotes the academic skills and is a course dedicated to wrien appreciaon and praccal experse equally. Throughout the course students will be asked to choreograph and perform a solo and group choreography based on a choice of given smuli, perform in a duet/trio, and a quartet. Theorecally students will study specific dance companies e.g. Rambert Dance Company 1965- 2002 and areas in history e.g. American Jazz Dance 1940-1975. Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.
