Dan Canham30 Cecil Street
A performance made fromfragments of memories, of wildnights and long-disappearedcommunities, it evokes the life of aonce-mighty building and asks whatis left when a theatre closes itsdoors for the last time?
In 2009 Dan Canham made a filmin a rotting and dilapidated theatrein Limerick, Ireland. Using that filmas source material, this originalpiece of dance-theatre is aneloquent, heart breaking elegy for alost and ruined theatre.
“Canham raises ghosts in spine
tingling dance-theatre piece…
exquisitely crafted, thoughtful theatre”
Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
Made with support from Arts CouncilEngland, Escalator Performing Arts, BristolFerment at Bristol Old Vic and BatterseaArts Centre.
Michael PinchbeckThe Beginning

Part theatrical memoir, part safetyannouncement, The Beginning isthe second in a trilogy of workstaking Shakespearean stagedirections as starting points forperformance and looks at what itmeans to begin.
Because he has promised never toperform again, Michael has invitedNicki Hobday and Ollie Smith tojoin him in remembering how itfeels to perform for the first time.
