Roger Rasheed Sport Foundation The Roger Rasheed Sport Foundation believes that regular sport activities and on-going training and mentoring can make a positive difference to children in all areas. By revitalising forgotten reserves and rusty old equipment or by building an entirely new precinct, our aim is to provide the children of extreme disadvantaged areas access to sport. When we identify a project, we begin by working alongside the local community and, first and foremost understanding, its needs, its residents and their families. Then, together with the local council and other interested supporters, we design and build the project with financial and in-find assistance from a group of committed individuals and businesses. If your organisation is a charity, the best place to look is on the ACNC register. Once you have found your organisation's entry, you can check your rules or constitution, which should state the type of legal structure. You can search by name, ABN or CAN. If your organisation is not a charity, start with the Australian Business Register. You will need the name and ideally the ABN or ACN of your organisation. If your group is a state-based not-for-profit structure such as an incorporated association or a co-operative, it is likely that the ABR will list it as “Other Incorporated Entity”. You will then need to search your state / territory regulator of not-for-profits to confirm your structure. For more information on Justice Connect visit: https://www.justiceconnect.org.au/our-programs/not-for-profit-law Free Screenings for Volunteers Volunteers are the backbone of our community organisations and sporting groups and now, thanks to the Marshall Liberal Government, they can be accessed for free. For some organisations, the abolition of volunteer screening fees could save thousands of dollars a year. That is money that will be back in the pockets of Stuart’s community organisations, including sporting clubs and charities, as well as emergency services. To apply for a free screening check or for more information, visit www.screening.sa.gov.au.
