Rescued!- After the tornado - Greensburg, Kansas, USA

The story begins with the rescuers finding this poor little guythey named Ralphie. Someone had already taken him undertheir wing but weren't equipped to adopt. Ralphie, scaredand starved, joined his rescuers...

I wouldn't think anythingcould live thru this...but we were wrong.

This little lady also survived that wreckage.

Here she is just placed in the car - scared, but safe.

and then...they are no longer alone!

Instant friends, they comforted each other while in the car.

Add two hounds found after that... the more, the merrier!

Oh boy, a new travelerto add to the mix...

(note: the cat comingover the seat needingshelter...)

Now just how is this going to work???- and remember they are all strange to one another

It's going to work just fine, thank you very much!Wow! The things we learn from our animal friends...

If only all of mankind could learn such valuable lessonsas this. Lessons of instant friendship. Of peace andharmony by way of respect for one another - no matterone's color or creed. These animals tell you...'It's just good to be alive and with others.'

Editors Note: How often have your heard thatDalmatians are untrainable? How often have obe-dience school trainers gone “Oh no, a Dalma-tian!” , when you enter their class? Every time Isee this photo it brings a tear to my eye. The Dal-matian is an intelligent breed that has played animportant part in so many situations. I think it iswe the owners that fail our Dalmatians in training,not our dogs!

Editor’s SpotI’m not sure if I’m keen on the Dally Digest this month. I think this is go-ing to be a very expensive month for me. The clothing and mementoes ofthe National Show look far to tempting to me! And with Winter coming onthe Rugby Jumpers look just the thing to keep those cold winds away atWinter dog shows.

Thinking of Winter, don’t forget to rug up your oldies at night as they espe-cially feel the cold. I have a 14 year old Dal that insists on sleeping on hisbed outside his kennel, even in the bleakest of nights. His thick dog coat isa must to keep his poor legs moving.

For those visiting our region for the National from down south we hope youenjoy the warmer Winter up here. We even have a couple of exhibitors fromTasmania!

Wishing all exhibitors a great National - remember while winning is al-ways great, this is the time when we can all get together and celebrate thiswonderful breed that accepts us as their owners—The Dalmatian!
