with our programs. That was achieved and I thank each of you that volunteered your

time and service to our order.

It was a pleasure and honor to present the Silver Patrick Henry award, in May, to two

of this year’s staff officers, our Adjutant, Lt Jim Gooch and our Treasurer, Major Bill

Coleman. Each played a critical part in the success of the chapter this year.

A final reminder - our Installation Banquet will start cocktails at 1700 hrs (5:00 pm).

Last Month’s Program, May 2016

Ken passed out Kudos Chapter Commander Ken Boatman took the opportunity

to present more than a dozen

awards to those Companions who

have been especially instrumental

in helping him to make FY 2016 a

memorable year.

A photo gallery of the awards

presentations can be found on page

5 of this month's Newsletter.

Boy Scouts of America

2016 has been a banner year for Eagles MG Gary Bunch, our Scouting

Chairman, presented the 35th

MOWW Certificate of Achievement

to a new Eagle Scout, this year. Eric

Anthony Jack Bray, the newest Ea-

gle Scout of BSA Troop 989, in

Carrollton was elevated to Scout-

ing's highest level following a mem-

orable Court of Honor.

Two weeks later, Chapter Senior

Vice Commander Paul Brown

presented the 36th Certificate of

Achievement to Eagle Scout

Mitchell Keeland, of Troop 1001,

in Richardson, TX.

Girl Scouts of America

Anything you can do, I can do better

During their once-a-year Gold Awards ceremony, more

than 150 girls were awarded Girl Scoutings highest

achievement recognition, the Gold Award.

The CEO of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas began the

program by publically and profusely thanking the Dallas

Chapter of MOWW for their continuous support for the

past 15 years.

This Month’s Program, June 2016

Installation marks Day One of the new Regime

Twice each year, the Dallas Chapter goes Formal.

Dress Blues, Mess Whites, Tux and gowns will grace the

Main Dining Room of the Park City Club, as we gather to

install our new Commander, Captain Paul Brown, and

his staff of officers. Commander Ken Boatman will hand

over the gavel during this Tuesday evening's Banquet,

amid the elegant decor of the Club and the enchanting

music of classical violins.

In order to avoid the nightmare of Dallas' rush hour

traffic, the start time for this year's Installation Banquet

proceedings will be pushed up to 1700 hours (5:00 p.m.

for you civilians). Come early & avoid the rush.

If you have not registered in advance, you are still

welcome to join us and may, of course, pay at the door.

As a special treat, Incoming Commander Paul Brown will

supervise a brief ceremony designed to honor a number

of Past Commanders. It is based on a traditional military

observance that pays homage to exceptional performance.

"The Battle of Life"

When the Supreme Commander of the Allied Command in Europe, General of the Armies Dwight D. Ei-

senhower, gave the order to this troops to make the historic crossing of the Rhine River, he decided to

accompany them. He fell into step with a group of combat troops in the 30th Infantry Division. The men

were in high spirits, en route to their boats. Then, General Eisenhower noticed one young soldier who

looked exceedingly worried. "How are you feeling, son", he asked?

The soldier replied, "General, I'm awful nervous. I was wounded two months ago and I just got back from

the hospital, yesterday. I just don't feel so good."

"Well, you and I make a good pair then, because I'm nervous, too. But we've planned this attack for a long

time. We've got all the planes, the guns, the airborne troops we can use. Maybe if we walk along together

to the river, we'll be good for each other."

As a soldier in God's Army, are you worried? Are you afraid of the enemy? Are you thinking of

retreating? Remember that God has promised to walk with you, to inspire and encourage you. As you

walk, in obedience to his commands, you will experience His promised presence.
