All organizations with the Charities Review Council seal have gone

through an extensive review process to ensure the organization

meets the highest standards and follows best practices in the non-

profit industry. The Accountability Standards® are co-created

benchmarks of nonprofit governance, finance, fundraising, and

public communication. All organizations with this seal meet the

ideal range of 70%-90% of funds expended directly on programs.

This indicates that the organization successfully balances the need

to expend the majority of its funds on current programs with the

need to invest in the infrastructure and administrative capacity

necessary to carry out its mission over the long-term.

The organizations in this resource guide are part of a Dakota County Collaborative, working together

to address the needs of our area communities. The purpose of this guide is to provide concise

information about area nonprofits to donors and their advisors who may want to consider

philanthropy planning as part of their estate plans.

What does the Meets Standards seal mean?
