HOME The Daisy Picot Technique by Riet Surtel © 2007 2 normal ds 4 daisy ds (dds) 2 ds, 5 dds, 1ds Drawings by Jane Eborall I learned this technique from the Shuttle Brothers and Mark Myers Abbreviations: R = Ring. dds = daisy double stitch Ch = chain RW = reverse work Ds = double stitch. cl = close ring For the daisy picot you need two shuttles with 2 different colours. The thread goes over your left hand and you start a ring with the green thread see fig 1 after 2 ds let the green thread just hanging down and take the blue thread and make 5 ds on the ring, but take care, don’t let them flip and you tat in the normal way , first half , second half. See 2 After some stitches, lay the blue back over your left hand and take the green and tat again 2 ds see 3 Now you have a picot with knots on it. What you do is making a chain as picot, so all you can do on a chain you can do here. Try it . There is also a book: Daisy Picot Patterns designed by Riet Surtel-Smeulders.
