Conductors have been sized to 125% of unit substation rating. Cable ampacities are based
on BC Hydro Standard ES53 U1-01 R4.
A separate neutral conductor is required when 500kcm conductor service cable is used,
as per BC Hydro Standard ES53 R5-01. Separate neutrals are not required for #1 AWG
and 4/0 AWG conductors as these cables are concentric neutral construction.
PILC -
Extruded Dielectric - Assembly shall be as per Detail 4 of this standard. Ground studs
are mandatory. In new installations, all necessary ball studs
should be pre-installed by the customer. For existing installations,
where ground studs are not present, they may be installed as per
ES53 B5-02 or B5-05.
