Session 1 MORNING (1 Hour)
Warm Up (10 15 minutes)
Technique (20 25 minutes) o Scales and arpeggios etc.
Studies/Etudes (20 30 minutes)
Session 2 AFTERNOON (1 Hour)
Warm Up (5 10 minutes)
Studies/Etudes (15 - 20 minutes)
Pieces/repertoire (30 40 minutes)
Session 3 EVENING (1 Hour)
Warm Up (5 minutes)
Pieces/repertoire (55 minutes)
Warm Ups can include (but are not limited to): o Long notes o Articulation o Vibrato o Support exercises
o Overtones o Flexibility exercises o Tuning exercises
Things to consider:
Where possible, take at least 1 hour between practice sessions. Rotate your reeds every 15 minutes this gives both your reeds and you a
break. This routine is a guide to help you maintain a balanced diet approach to
practice. There will be days when you have too many classes/ensembles rehearsals etc, so you will need to adjust the routine to suit.
