Some guides in using the Daily Lesson Log:1. The template shall bear only five (5)-day log to input lessons beginning on a Monday and ending on a Friday;2. The log shall be functional and so it is to be accomplished on a daily basis;3. There is no escaping of dates so that even suspension of classes or holidays falling on weekdays shall be reflected on the log;4. The teachers may employ/use the following:

a. Traditional Lesson Plan notebook (but teachers have to draw the columns following the format).

b. Using the hard copy of the format either by original printing or photocopy which shall be properly compiled and labeled by subject area utmost. (The teacher may want to have it by subject/grade or year/section)c. Using gadgets like laptop, netbook, tablet, or iPad to input the daily log using the template*The principal or school head or department head must have a summary in his/her supervisory notebook as to who among the teachers employ a, b, or c. For those who would employ C, the principal can check it either by asking them to e-mail the log, or to see the gadget itself and check the log from there with appropriate notation on his/her supervisory notebook that indeed the teachers have prepared their daily lesson logs.

5. The principals and school heads including the department heads in the secondary schools must check/note on the logs at least twice a week preferably on Wednesdays and Fridays*These shall be done in order to ensure that the lesson logs are functional.*If you observe, there is not much to be checked on the log because of its summarized nature which means that the ‘supervisor’ is limited to noting only whether or not the teachers have actually daily lesson logs for the day.*These goes without saying that the only way to check whether or not teaching and learning occur is at the classroom itself and this is where classroom observation and supervision must come in.

Some guides in accomplishing the Budgeted Lesson Template:

1. Take note of the allocation of days in the school calendar such that the total number of days for the 1st Grading Period is 53, 2nd Grading Period is 52, 3rd Grading Period is 54, and 4th Grading Period is 42 for a total of 201 days;2. Take note also of the quarter exam days, holidays (local and national), and other activities that require suspension or disruption of classes. Having these in mind the teacher can somehow allocate better the time resources and the possibility of covering all topics and LC’s in one learning area.3. The budgeted lesson or subject allocation is an accompanying gadget of the daily lesson log and so they always jive with each other

4. The principal or school heads including the department heads in the secondary schools can make use of these subject allocation material to be more effective, more focused, more direct, more practical, and more responsive in his/her supervision5. This is also a tool to gauge the delivery of the goods by the teacher in consideration of urgency and time on task
