• Andhra Pradesh became the 1st Indian state to implement Celltick’s state-of-the-art cell broadcasting PWS.

• This Cell Broadcast based emergency mass alerting system will provide real-time geo-targeted warning alerts securely in over ten Indian languages during any kind of natural or man-made disasters to subscribers of Vodafone Idea in AP.

6th NIRF Rankings 2021

• Ministry of Education released the 6th NIRF National Institutional Ranking Framework Rankings 2021 of Higher Educational Institutes of India in 11 categories from New Delhi.

• The ranking has been topped by IIT Madras in the overall category which is followed by IISc Bengaluru, Karnataka at 2nd and IIT Bombay, Maharashtra at 3rd place.

• The rankings for all Indian colleges and universities given by the Ministry were

based on 5 parameters with 100 marks each viz. teaching, learning, and resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcome; Outreach And Inclusivity; and Perception.

• Research institutions have been ranked for the first time in India Rankings 2021.

• United Nations Conference on Trade and

Development released its “Trade and

Development Report 2021”, which predicts

India’s Gross Domestic Product to grow by 7.2

percent in 2021, whereas the Global Growth

rate is projected at 5.3 percent.

• The report also estimates India’s GDP to

grow by 6.7 percent in 2022

• The Global economic growth that saw a fall of 3.5 percent in 2020 due to the pandemic, will grow by 5.3

percent in 2021.

Missile (MRSAM) System/“Barak-8” Missile

System to Indian Air Force at Air Force

Station, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

• MRSAM (IAF) is an advanced network centric

combat Air Defence System developed by

DRDO in collaboration with Israel Aerospace

Industries (IAI), and PPP (Public Private Partnership) in Indian industry.

• The Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways

inaugurated a 3-km emergency landing strip or Emergency Landing Facility at Satta-Gandhav stretch on

National Highway 925 in Barmer, Rajasthan for IAF planes.

• The ELF strip has been developed by National Highways Authority of India in association with IAF.

• This inauguration is a part of newly developed two-lane 196.97 km Gagariya-Bakhasar and Satta-Gandhav

section.

• The mock emergency landing was done by Hercules C-130J plane of the IAF. The mock emergency landing

scope of tokenization from device-based tokenization to card-on-file tokenization services.

• With this, RBI also permitted card issuers (such as Rupay, Visa, and Mastercard) to act as token service providers (TSP).

• RBI also refused to extend its deadline for card tokenization beyond January 1, 2022 means no entity in the card

transaction, other than the card issuers or card networks, will store the actual card data.
