It was written because God knew the importance of knowing the strength of

your past. Your roots/ancestry tell a story of triumph. Knowing what others

God created this world. The beauty of

Lord, help me to appreciate the diversity of your creation.

Our nation is currently in “Award Show

Season.” In the next several weeks we will have

the Grammy, Academy, Webby, Tony, MTV,

BET, Emmy, Golden Globes, , Oscars, Billboard,

etc.…

This is a “special” night, when “special”

people, come together to tell each other how

“special” they are.

Everyone who receives an award will be given

an opportunity to make a speech. During these

acceptance speeches, individuals thank others who helped them on their

journey. What would your acceptance speech sound like? Who has helped you

on your life journey? Don’t wait for an special occasion to show your

appreciation to others. God places people in our lives that help, encourage, and

bless us. If there are people who have been inspirational or helpful to you, tell

them thank you. Let them know they have impacted you life.

God blesses me so I can be a blessing to

those who are around me.

Lord, please help me to be appreciative of the people you

have placed in my life.

that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us

your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

One of the greatest smells in the world is to

have something sweet baking in the oven. Good

treats come out of hot ovens. These ovens must

be so hot that special oven mitts are needed to

handle the baked goodies inside.

Have you ever considered how so many sweet

treats come out of heated environments? God

has perfected the art of creating sweet

situations from harsh environments.

Comfortable environments seldom push us to

do extraordinary things. Being in heated, or uncomfortable, positions can motivate

us to seek change. Sometimes God allows our homes, jobs, and communal spaces

to become uncomfortable to inspire a desire for change. When things in your life

began to shift, trust God. Good things have been birthed out of harsh

circumstances. God has a history of doing his best work when things looked their

worst.

Lord, please help me to carry the burdens in my life in a way

that gives you glory and honor.

God often changes environments to

motivate a desire for change in me.

I am constantly tempted to procrastinate.

▪Procrastinate: to delay or postpone action; put off doing something.

Most important tasks come accompanied by

a deadline. So, inaction can cause missed

opportunities. I have to make a conscious

effort to do things in the appropriate time.

God wants us to achieve certain things in our

life. If we are not careful we will spend so

much time in hesitation, it exceeds our time action. The hardest part for

completing a goal can be simply starting the process. When you have a goal or

objective you may be tempted to procrastinate your beginning. The first step in

any meaningful journey can be daunting. Do not put off until tomorrow, what

God has given you the strength to handle today. Take the first step today towards

obtaining a goal. Start it today. All great things begin with a single step in the

right direction. Follow God. Start stepping!

When God gives me a goal, he also gives me the strength to

accomplish it.

Lord, please help me to move consistently towards the

goals you have for my life.

There was a time when cooking white rice

generally took around 10 minutes per uncooked

cup of rice. Brown rice could take around 20

minutes per uncooked cup. Now, thanks to

technology, you can prepare rice in 60 seconds.

Wouldn’t it be great if technology could

improve the speed of everything? However, I

have found that sometimes a good meal takes

time. Some things cannot be rushed. Some

blessings cannot be rushed. God can move very

quickly. At other times it can seem like God is moving in slow motion. Do not get

discouraged when you ask God for a minute miracle and he says no. Receiving

some miracles may take longer than others. But, when we receive His blessings

then begin to understand that it was worth the wait.

Lord, please help me to have faith in your Godly timing.

God knows when I need quick miracles

and when I need a slow break through.

Have you ever walked into a room to retrieve

something, but after you arrived in the room

you’d forgotten what your goal was?

There are various vitamins and supplements

you can take in an effort to improve your

goals for this year are? When I need to remember something important, I write it

down. I place a reminder of my goal somewhere that I have to view. This makes

the goal stay present and relevant. This year can be the blessed year you hope it

to be. But, you must keep your spiritual goals for you and your family active. Ask

God to give you clarity and wisdom. Keep your focus. Don’t let your objectives for

improvement get covered by the daily grind of our lives. Keep your Bible present

and read it. Pray often. Meditate on God’s goodness. Work daily towards being a

better person in Christ.

Lord, please help me to expect to see your glory

and goodness everyday of my life.

I will focus on my present, learn from my past, and hope

What are you motivated to change this year?
