Rural healthcare has been important to Shannon her entire life; from growing up in a very rural environment and accessing healthcare as a youth, to spending the majority of her career as an occupational therapist treating patients in rural areas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta, Edmonton and became certified to practice in both Canada and the US. She has worked in rural areas of Alberta, Montana and Idaho in both frontline patient care and management. Shannon has also been the IRHA Volunteer Coordinator for the Rural Outreach Programs since 2010. SAVE  THE  DATE!  Meet  the  Residents  

The  State  Office  of  Rural  Health  and  Primary  Care,  in  partnership  with  the  Idaho  State  University  Family  Medicine  Residency,  Portneuf  Medical  Center  and  the  Idaho  Hospital  Cooperative,  is  pleased  to  announce  the  second  annual  “Pocatello  Meet  the  Residents”  event  on  Thursday,  March  6th,  at  Portneuf  Medical  Center  in  Pocatello.    This  is  an  opportunity  for  Idaho  communities  to  meet  medical  residents  during  an  informal  evening;  be  sure  to  reserve  your  place  early!  A  light  buffet  and  beverages  will  be  provided.    Registration  will  be  open  until  February  24,  2014.  Contact  the State Office of Rural Health & Primary Care at [email protected] or 208-334-0669 for registration information.
