Daejeon O-World is the largest zoo
in the central part of Korea, Daejeon
O-World consists of “Zoo Land,”
“Flower Land” and “Joy Land.” Zoo
Land is currently home to a total of
600 animals of 130 different species
including American black bears,
Bengal tigers, lions, elephants,
giraffes, zebras, and ostriches.
Flower Land boasts a number of
smaller sections such as Rose
Garden, Four Season Garden, Herb
Garden, and Maze Garden and is
home to a total of 150,000 tress of
100 different species and 200,000
flowers of 85 different species. An
outdoor stage and concert hall are
also located in the area. There are
plenty of things to see and enjoy in
every corner of Daejeon O-World.

Gyeongbokgung was the main
royal palace of the Joseon dynasty.
Built in 1395, it is located in
northern Seoul, South Korea. The
largest of the Five Grand Palaces
built by the Joseon dynasty,
Gyeongbokgung served as the
home of Kings of the Joseon
dynasty, the Kings' households, as
well as the government of Joseon.

Insadong Street is one of the most
memorable attractions in Seoul
and represents the focal point of
Korean traditional culture and
crafts. Stores in Insa-dong
specialize in a wide variety of
goods that can only be purchased
or appreciated in Korea: hanbok
(traditional clothing), hanji
(traditional paper), traditional teas,
pottery, and folk crafts.

Myeong-dong is one of the
primary shopping districts in
Seoul. Many brand name shops
and department stores line the
streets and alleys. Common
products for sale include clothes,
shoes, and accessories. Unlike
Namdaemun or Dongdaemun,
many designer brands are sold in
Myeong-dong. In addition, several
major department stores have
branches here. The department
stores carry many premium labels
and other fashionable goods at
reasonable prices.

Techno Mart is Korea’s largest
electronics shopping center,
housing 2,000 stores packed with
high-tech products. It offers a
variety of electronic goods
including digital cameras,
computers, MP3 players, sound
systems, CDs, DVDs,
communication equipment, IT
equipment and more. In order to
provide a differentiated service in
the style of a department store
with product-specific marketing,
the center displays each item with
labeled prices and provides high-
class service for customers.
Undoubtedly, it has grown to
become a must for fans of
electronics and technology from
all over the world.

Korean Folk Village introduces
traditional culture from the late
Joseon period to both local and
international visitors through
cultural classes experience,
shaman faith, seasonal customs
and others. Also, the village
shows various places with unique
features such as a farming village,
private house, official districts,
Confucian academy, Seodang
(village school), and a village
street in realistic descriptions, as
well as, a nobleman’s house and
traditional workshop.
Performances including Nongak
(farmer’s music), martial art on
horseback, traditional wedding
ceremony, and other special
events are available by season.

Namsan Tower is 236.7 meter
tower sits atop Namsan Mountain
(243m). The observatory offers
panoramic views of Seoul and the
surrounding areas. Namsan
Tower is the very place to enjoy
the entire city of Seoul.
Situated on top of the N Plaza, the
Roof Terrace is a spacious
wooden viewing deck whose
exotic atmosphere makes it very
popular with lovers. A recent
attraction for courting couples is
"Locks of Love," thousands of
padlocks attached to the fence by
romantic Seoulites symbolizing
their undying affection.

Dongdaemun Market started as a
traditional market in 1905 and
experienced its first major
transformation in 1970s as it
began to develop as a center of
the textile industry (both
wholesale and retail), further
contributing to the fast economic
growth of Korea at that time.
With the later construction of
mega shopping buildings in the
area, the market became reborn
as the most famous fashion street
in Korea.

The National Science Museum is
a scientific culture facility which
studies and exhibits various
scientific materials. At its center
is the Astronomical Hall, which
is the largest dome in Korea.
From here you can vividly see the
phenomenon of the celestial
sphere and the human
development of space. It also has
the only world-class space theater
in Korea. The 242 seats are
available on a first-come first-
serve basis. It can re-create the
appearance of a night sky, the
highlight being the view of the
starlight at the planetarium. The
Astrovision is also a special
visual device, giving a
magnificent and realistic view of
space development.

The Currency Museum of Korea
is the first museum in Korea to be
dedicated solely to modern and
ancient currencies. The museum
(est. 1988) is operated by the Mint
Corporation of Korea as part of its
non-profit public services and is
open to visitors free of charge
with a view of increasing public
knowledge of the nation’s
currency. The museum features a
total of 120,000 pieces including:
coins currently in use both in
Korea and overseas; coins from
modern times (from the Late
Joseon Dynasty until today); 80
types of commemorative coins; 88
types of ‘special money’; postage
stamps, and other materials.

Lotte World is the perfect spot
for entertainment and
sightseeing. It is a theme park
filled with thrilling rides, an ice
rink and different kinds of
parades, as well as a folk
museum, a lake, and much more.
Lotte World is divided into an
indoor Adventure theme, and
Magic Island theme outdoors,
next to Seokchonhosu Lake.
Lotte World Adventure has
districts representing different
countries with various kinds of
facilities and souvenir shops.
You can enjoy watching parades,
numerous films, laser shows, and
tasting a variety of international
cuisines even during the
holidays. Magic Island, where
the dazzling Magic Castle is
located, is also the venue of
exhilarating, high-altitude rides.

CGV is the largest multiplex cinema
chain in South Korea, and also has
branches in China, Vietnam and the
United States. CGV takes its name from
the first letter of the three words;
Cultural, Great and Vital.

A degree in culinary arts offers more
than just an education in cooking
fundamentals. It offers a wealth of
opportunities in an exciting, fast-
paced and growing industry. SICA
offer a wide range of cooking classes
from baking to wine tasting. All
classes are taught in a 5-star facility at
Woosong SICA building.

During the festival period, tourists
flock to the area to experience the
beneficial properties of the
Boryeong mud, and also to have lots
of fun. Fully immersed in the both
the mud and the festival’s great
atmosphere, visitors enjoy mud
wrestling, mud sliding and even
swimming in the mud mega tub.
Visitors feeling particularly
energetic can try the marine mud-
training course, whilst those
looking for something more chilled
can relax in the mud massage zone.
In the evening, music and fireworks
continue the party on the beach.

Busan Aquarium contains over
35,000 species of fish, algae,
reptiles, and amphibians. This
state-of-the-art facility is one of
Korea’s top aquariums. The
aquarium covers an area of 36,000
m2 and is spread over 3
underground levels and features
an outdoor park. The third
underground level boasts has a
tunnel. The tunnel experience
resembles a walk along the ocean
floor with various sea creatures
swimming above. This is a very
popular area of the aquarium and
is sure to amaze visitors. The
simulator also stimulates the
imagination and provides a
unique feeling of life on the ocean
floor.

Haeundae is 1.5 km long, 30-50m
wide, and spans an area of
58,400㎡. The white sand is rough
and sticks easily to your skin. The
sand of this beach is composed of
sand that comes from Chuncheon
Stream and shells that have been
naturally eroded by the wind over
time. Haeundae Beach is also
famous for the various cultural
events and festivals held
throughout the year. At Haeundae
Beach there is a Folk Square
where you can enjoy traditional
games such as neolttwigi (seesaw
jumping), Korean wrestling, tuho
(arrow throwing), tug-of-war and
yutnori.

Samgyeopsal is a popular Korean
dish that is commonly served as
an evening meal. It consists of
thick, fatty slices of pork belly
meat. The meat, usually neither
marinated nor seasoned, is
cooked on a grill at the diners’
table. Usually diners grill the
meat themselves and eat directly
from a grill. It is typically served
with ssamjang, vegetables, and
lettuce leaves to wrap it in.

It’s a fried chicken dish prepared
in a Korean style. It is consumed
as a meal, fast food at bars, or as
an after meal snack in Korea.
Korean fried chicken differs from
typical American fried chicken
by being fried twice. This results
in the skin being crunchier and
less greasy. The chickens are
usually seasoned with spices,
sugar, and salt, prior to and after
being fried. The chicken is
usually hand painted with a
brush, to evenly coat the chicken
with a thin layer of sauce. Pickled
radishes, beer, and soju are often
served with Korean fried chicken.

Samgyetang means ginseong
chicken soup. It consists
primarily of a whole chicken
filled with various ingredients.
Samgyetang is a warm soup for
hot summer days. It is especially
popular to eat this chicken soup
on sambok (삼복) days, which
are three distinct days of the
lunar calendar which are
commonly among the hottest
summer and most sultry days in
Korea.

Hanbok is the representative example of
traditional Korean dress. It is
characterized by vibrant colors and
simple lines without pockets.
