What strings are best for me? How do I tune my guitar? The truth about cables?
Nickel Plated SteelNickel Round Wound strings are theplayers choice worldwide andtheyre known for distinctive brighttone and excellent intonation. Idealfor all styles of music.
Pure NickelClassic electric guitar string tone datesback to the 50s, when pure nickel wasthe primary alloy used to make strings.DAddarios Pure Nickel strings offer a warmer, vintage tone that many enthu-siasts prefer.
What gauge should I use?Heavy gauge strings offer larger toneand volume but are harder to play.Conversely, lighter strings will haveslightly less volume and depth but areeasier to play. Generally, start lighter(9-42 or 10-46) and work your way up,if needed.
When do I change my strings?Change your strings at thefirst signs of corrosion or ifyou notice a loss of bright-ness. Tuning instability isanother signal that it may betime for a string change. Ifyou break a string it is best to change the whole set.
Changing Tips:Change one string at a time. This allows you to have a pitch reference from the otherstrings and maintains the playing tension on your instrument. Start with yourwound low E and work your way up.
