Over 170 'WISE' Scholars take off for InternshipsThe DAAD Regional Office in New Delhi, in collaboration with its network offices in India, conducted six pre-departure meetings for DAAD WISE scholarship awardees. The meetings which took place in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune were organised with the aim of familiarising the young students with life in Germany.

Working Internships in Science and Engineering, commonly referred to as 'WISE', is one of the most popular programmes of the DAAD in India, which funds bright students from selected Indian institutions of higher education to pursue 3-month summer research internships at premier universities and research institutions in Germany.

The launch workshop was inaugurated by the EU

Ambassador to India on 10 April 2017 and focused on “India and EU as Foreign Policy Actors and their Strategic Partnership”. The workshop witnessed intense discussions about the conditions, the potentials and the relevance of both partners and the respective actorness of India and the European Union in a dynamic global context. It challenged numerous underlying assumptions and opened up new research possibilities on both ends.
