The Da Vinci Institute experiences high growth in 2014
The Da Vinci Institute focusses on the cultivation of managerial leaders by
providing Certificate, BCom, Master and Doctorate programmes. These
qualifications are awarded within the pillars of the Management of
Technology, Management of Innovation, Management of People and
Management of People (TIPS™). As a Mode 2 institution, the primary
characteristic is the work based application of the knowledge creation. This
allows Da Vinci to engage, align and become agile in co-creating new
workplace realities with students and sponsors.
The Da Vinci Institute announced recently, highlights achieved at the end of
December 2014. The indication of growth is viewed from the period of
January 2014 to December 2014. Within this period The Da Vinci Institute
successfully welcomed 273 new students to its BCom (Business Management)
programme. Taking into account the total respective programmes offered,
overall, student numbers increased from 1405 at the end of 2013 to 1664 at
the end of 2014.
New students that started these programmes currently work for companies
such as PPS, FNB Home Loans and SA Express. Marizanne Burger, Operations
Manager commented on the growth, “It is a notable accomplishment in
reflection of 2013 to see the total growth of Da Vinci with regards to total
students, new clients and reaching target in 2014”. Da Vinci reached its
target revenue of R25 000 000.00 and this is especially worth mentioning as
2014 included the induction of new senior managers and operations staff to
the team.
In addition to this Da Vinci also saw an increase in our annual Staff
Satisfaction Index which measures overall satisfaction in staff. Mrs Burger
stated, “The figures increased from 82% in 2013 to 84% in 2014 which reflects
an increase in overall staff satisfaction. This indicates growth in terms of
culture and the integration thereof.” Furthermore, income from associates
reached a pinnacle point by attaining 58% of the 40% target. Mr Kenneth
Mabilisa, Business Development Manager commented, “As part of our 5 year
plan to reach full target of 100%, this is certainly a great breakthrough as we
proceed to 2015.”
The Institute is registered as a Private Higher Education Institution under the
Higher Education Act 1997, registration no 2004/HE07/003. The Institute is also
accredited by the Council of Higher Education and its qualifications are
recorded with the South African Qualifications Authority.
