INTRODUCTION

Conference and events, at EU and international level are extremely useful to disseminate the project’s results to the right audiences, to make good use of the communication material developed and to create connections both at technical and at dissemination level with other projects and organisations.

ExcEED partners were asked to present the project at conferences and workshops in their countries, at EU level and international level. They were also asked to use the communication material developed (brochures, infographics, leaflets, etc.) to raise awareness on the project branding and recognition.

Despite the fact that there is only one abstract available from the presentations delivered by the ExcEED partners to conferences, the project was successfully presented, and material distributed in different events, reaching at the end more than 7000 people.

EXTERNAL EVENTS PUBLISHED ON THE EXCEED WEBSITE

The ExcEED website was leveraged to multiply the communications around the events where ExcEED was presented through presentations or project material. The section ‘Where to meet us’ lists all these external events and turned out to be a good hook for social media as every time an event was added on the ExcEED website and it was also advertised on Twitter.

On the website, the ‘Where to meet us’ section can be found at http://www.exceedproject.eu/where-to-meet-us/

EXCEED PROMOTION AT EXTERNAL EVENTS

The events where ExcEED partners presented the project or where the ExcEED communications material were showcased were more than 20, reaching around 7000 people. The events at the beginning of the project served the scope to raise awareness on the project branding. In the development phase of the ExcEED platform, the events served to create the buzz around the platform. When the ExcEED platform was launched, the events served instead to advertise the platform and to increase the number of users. During the project, a short paper “Environmental Data Platform (EDP), a Solution to Work with Big Data, Standardized and Reproducible””1 (Proceedings of the 22nd AGILE Conference on Geographic Information Science) was elaborated and presented by Eurac at the 22nd AGILE Conference on Geographic Information Science in Limassol, Cyprus, on 17-20 June, 2019. The main topics for the 2019 conference included, among others, Big Spatial Data: Analysis and Visualization, Volunteered Geographic Information and Community Observatories, Socio-Economic Impact Assessment of GI, as well as GIScience and Technology Education and Training.

EXCEED WEBINAR

On the occasion of the launch of the ExcEED platform, the partners organised a webinar in collaboration with BUILD UP, that was held on June 4th, 2019. The ExcEED project webinar presented the project results up to date analysing the current stage in regard to the project goals. During the webinar, the ExcEED team demonstrated how these data can be uploaded.

The webinar was moderated by Roberto Lollini, ExcEED coordinator (EURAC Research), who highlighted ExcEED project results and the benefits for ExcEED platform users. The platform demonstration and technical specifications were presented by Thiago Nuic, from WATTICS Ltd. Afterwards, the webinar counted with the presentation of Daniele Antonucci, from EURAC Research, about the Building KPIs and Geocluster tool. Subsequently Casa Hoval, ExcEED demo case study was shown by Mihai Bodea, from HOVAL Ltd. At the end there was a Q&A session.

The webinar counted almost 70 registered people and ca 50 attendees. The presentations and video recorded are available on BUILD UP (http://www.buildup.eu/en/news/webinar-exceed-project-database-data-information-knowledge-0 ) and ExcEED website. The video is also uploaded on the BUILDUP YouTube account, and counts more than 70 views (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrDE9bpaae8 ). The webinar was advertised by ExcEED partners through their social media and on different platforms and, on the day of the event, the ExcEED Twitter account tweeted about every presentation, resulting in a Twitter event report, to increase the interest of its followers. The tweets advertising the webinar were the most successful tweets between June and August 2019.
