The Hystat system features:

The joystick control is simple and easyto understand. With it, you will controlthe direction, speed, and steering ofyour D3C Series III Hystat tractor. Thejoystick is ergonomically designed tofit comfortably within the palm of yourhand. Control effort is minimal, somuch so that you might find yourselfusing your fingertips.

Direction/speed

■ Forward movement. As you move thejoystick forward, the machine movesforward, traveling faster as thejoystick is moved further forwardfrom the center position.

■ Reverse movement. When you movethe joystick back, the machine willmove in reverse, again travelingfaster the further the joystick ismoved back from the center position.

■ Stopping. The easiest way to stop themachine is to return the joystick tothe center position. The joystick isspring-loaded and will return toneutral by itself. You may also stopthe tractor by using the center brakepedal.

■ Turtle/rabbit switch. In turtle mode,the drive motors are fixed in themaximum torque position (workingmode). Switching to rabbit modechanges the drive motors to a higherspeed setting (roading mode). Toactivate the turtle/rabbit mode,simply use the toggle switch locatedon top of the joystick.

Steering

■ Right/left movement. With themachine moving in forward orreverse, moving the joystick to theright results in the machine turning tothe right; moving the joystick to theleft causes the machine to move tothe left. The more the joystick ismoved to the left or right, the tighterthe turn.

Hystat ControlSteering, machine direction and speed is combined into one control for enhanced operatorcontrollability, comfort and increased productivity.

3 Clutch/brake steering. Two-pedalcontrols are standard on the clutch/brake system. Optional hand leverswith a single brake pedal areavailable to meet individual operatorpreferences.

4 Clutch/brake transmission control.Simple U-shaped shift patternprovides speed and directionalcontrol.

5 Clutch/brake decelerator pedalallows you to control engine speedwhile freeing hands for transmissionand dozer control.

6 A single lever dozer control fitscomfortably in your right hand, andrequires minimum effort. The levercontrols all blade lift/angle/tiltfunctions.

7 Governor control. High to low settingallows you to set engine speed at thedesired RPM. Hystat tractors can beoperated at any RPM.

8 Dash panel on Hystat tractors hasfive individual, analog gauges,providing fluid level andtemperature information at a glance.Clutch/brake models are equippedwith a four-gauge cluster. All gaugesare back-lighted.

9 A suspension seat is standard on allD3C tractors and is equipped with aseat belt and an adjustable backrest.

The VPATblade is specifically designed for finishgrading, backfilling ditches, cutting V ditches, windrowing, fill spreading,landscaping, medium land clearing andheavy dozing.

2 An adjustable top pitch link providesa solid link between the blade and thetop of the tilt tower on the C-frame.An infinite range of cutting edgepitch positions is possible between50° and 55°. The carry position (50°)allows maximum blade capacitywhen moving soft material. Thepenetrating position (55°) allows theblade to dig into tough, tight soilconditions. Adjusting the pitch iseasy. Simply loosen the bolts on thelink, set the desired pitch, and tightenthe bolts.
