The pandemic has forced organizations to transform and move faster than any of us thought possible to support our employees, customers and communities. In order for our progress to be sustainable, organizations must reinvent with the future in mind. Now is the time to pivot and make it happen.

The South Dakota Bankers Association invites you to celebrate all that we have accomplished this past year as we REIMAGINE, REINVENT and REVOLUTIONIZE in A NEW DIRECTION at the 2021 Quad States Convention on June 14-15 at The Monument (former Rushmore Plaza Civic Center) in Rapid City, S.D. This year’s event will include bankers and business partners from South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.

The 2021 Quad States Convention is currently being planned in a hybrid manner. We are hosting a live event in Rapid City and will also livestream speakers for those who are unable to or prefer not to attend in person.

MONDAY AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES GOLF TOURNAMENTSJoin bankers, spouses/guests and business partners for golf tournaments at Arrowhead and Golf Club at Red Rock. Each golf course will be capped at 72 golfers. (There is an additional fee to golf. The registration deadline is June 1.)

Arrowhead Located along the beautiful Black Hills of Rapid City, Arrowhead offers 18 holes of championship golf. The golf course features multiple sets of tees and rolling terrain, perfect for golfers of all skill levels, as well as driving ranges and practice area. Since its inception in 1954, the course has grown in its beauty and maturity and offers something for golfers of all skill levels.

Golf Club at Red Rock Routed through the Black Hills terrain, the Red Rock golf course features lush fairways surrounded by native grasses and ponderosa pine trees. Dramatic elevation changes, links-style bunkers and USGA specification greens characterize the championship golf course. It has been designed to provide an exceptional experience to both the casual golfer and the more demanding player.

AFTERNOON ADVENTURESCuster State Park Jeep Tour Get off the beaten track and spend your afternoon at Custer State Park on an off-road safari jeep tour. Travel through the park in an open-air jeep in search of pronghorns, elk and buffalo. Along the way, guides will share historical and educational facts about the park and wildlife—and help you spot the critters. Buffalo, antelope and elk, OH MY! We will travel to Custer State Park via bus, and lunch will be provided. This tour will be limited to 80 people. (There is an additional fee to go on this tour.)

Journey Museum TourNo journey is a straight line. Come explore what The Journey Museum has to offer. Grab lunch and enjoy a short walk to the museum. Step through the front doors and get ready to immerse yourself in the history of the Black Hills and Native American history. As you enter the twinkling Star Room, open your ears and eyes to the scientific and cultural perspectives of the beginning of time. Venture into the earth’s crust and visualize the many rocky layers that lay beneath our feet. As you make your way through the uplift of the Black Hills, touch and feel the very rocks and gems that are found right here in this area. Check out dinosaur bones and see real arrowheads. Marvel at the intricate beadwork of the indigenous peoples and step inside a real tipi. Travel back in time to Deadwood and see the demise of Wild Bill.

Downtown Rapid City TourOther than being past presidents of the United States, what do George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan have in common? They, along with 41 other past presidents, stand ready to greet you at the City of Presidents in downtown Rapid City. The City of Presidents is a series of life-sized bronze statues of our nation’s past presidents. Your outing will start with lunch followed by a short walk downtown. Our guide for the day will highlight the City of Presidents, as well as other downtown Rapid City gems. Wrap up your afternoon with a stop at the Blind Lion. Hidden underground, the Blind Lion is a 1920s-themed speakeasy that will take you right back to the era of Prohibition.

EVENING EVENTSRETIREMENT CELEBRATIONS

Curt Everson After 18 years as president of the South Dakota Bankers Association, Curt Everson has exchanged his lobbyist badge for golf clubs and his corner office for full-time grandpa duty. Stop by on Monday at 6-7 p.m. MDT to wish Curt and Roxy well on this exciting new chapter of their lives.

and entertainer, Tweedy has stunned audiences all around the world, from the dark European forests of Transylvania to the bright lights of Las Vegas Boulevard. As credit cards fly through the air, business cards burst into flames, solid objects twist and warp, Tweedy reads people’s thoughts and makes impossible yet correct predictions. Reality as you

CLOSING RECEPTIONConvention may be a wrap but stick around and celebrate with old and new friends alike. We promise good food, good fellowship and a good old-fashioned border FEUD. Family Feud, Quad States style, to be exact. We hear that Richard Dawson (millennials, look him up!) will be making a special appearance complete with leisure suit and carnation.
