Immigration and Integration (90%) and the Republic of Cyprus (10%). The purpose of the Program is to promote the institution of foster care through the identification, evaluation, education and long-term monitoring of the candidate foster parents. The Social Welfare Services are the legal guardian of unaccompanied minors in Cyprus and therefore undertake the placement of unaccompanied minor in an approved foster family. For the implementation of the program is necessary the close cooperation with the Social Welfare Services, as it is the competent public authority to ensure the best interests of children. There are available application forms in Greek, English, Turkish, Arabic, Somalia and French.

The Cyprus Red Cross in Cyprus held a press conference where they announced the beginning of a project “employment programs for residents at the Welcome Center and Hosting Seekers of International Protection in Kofinou”. The aim of the project is to improve the quality of living of residents (children and adults) of the Reception Centre and Hosting Seekers of International Protection in Kofinou. Employment of residents in various activities, it is necessary to improve both individual, and their collective capabilities (skills and qualifications), and to increase their confidence

Donate your old bike to refugee childrenDate: 7 March 2017A very nice tender piece, able to donate your old bike, the Cyprus Cycling Federation thought in collaboration with the Asylum Service. The Cyprus Cycling Federation, a national cycling body and in cooperation as a national coordinator for the World NowWe MOVE campaign, as well as one of the events for the upcoming MOVE WEEK 2017 of the International Sport and Cultural Association (ISCA), based in Denmark, has announced its collaboration with the Asylum Service. Prompted by the excellent initiative of volunteer Natasha George, triggered the action for recovery, repair and distribution of bicycles in all children currently accommodated in the Reception Centre and Hosting Seekers of International Protection Kofinou.The Federation appealed to both members and the general public if they have bikes that do not use to donate in order to be repaired as needed and then be given to children. Bicycles should be functional or substantially operational state.
