Inspiration for my photo
I wanted an image either close – up or long shot, so I experimented with many poses and chose the one I liked the most, the most professional.

Editing the image
I cropped the image as the background was not very professional, I also used the clone tool to discard any impurities on the model’s face and cloned the brand name on his t-shirt. Lastly I blurred the image and rubbed out the important features such as the eyes, nose and lips.

Editing
I placed the cropped image on a plain white background and added the artist’s name ‘Merabet’ I used the font ‘Scriptina’ size 120 pt, regular.
The text tool I used. (Type tool)
I felt it did not look realistic so I tried contrasting the colour of the background.
The paint tool I used.(paint bucket)

Editing
I felt the black background worked better however there was a gold outline around the model from where the natural light fell so I then edited that out.
I began to put my double page spread together, I added a blue shadow behind the article title, (the same shade blue as the model’s t-shirt). I also added the magazine name ‘LYRIX’ to both sides of the pages, this follows the conventions of the magazine.
I followed the conventions of having a pull quote as I feel it attracts the audience and interests them in reading the article.

Editing
I did trial and error to get a professional look. I also used a brush tool to make the writing look as if it has splashed, like calligraphy.

Editing
I added the body text, leading text, drop cap, pull quote and article title. I also added a shadow effect around the model and from them decided to add a selling line, the mise en scene represents his father’s shadow, as his father is famous and may shadow his career.
Feed back:• The pull quote on the photo does not match the article• A line text• Add page number• Add more writing• Correct grammar.
