D. N. Lal Sharda Private Industrial training Institute (ITI) was established by D. N Lal Sharda Memorial Society in year 2012 and started with 4 units (84 seats) of 2 trades in affiliation with NCVT, DGT, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India (formerly under as DGE&T, Ministry of Labour and Employment) after getting approval and recommendation from Department of Training & Technical Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. In the year 2013 we had setup more infrastructure as per new syllabus and get the affiliation of 14 additional units (344 Seats) of 4 different trades with NCVT, DGT, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India (formerly under as DGE&T, Ministry of Labour and Employment) after getting recommendation from NABET, Quality Council of India. We are the first QCI Recommended ITI in Delhi State among all Government and Private ITI. As per new norms for Grading of ITI, we have graded 4 Star by the International Rating Agency CRISIL in 2015. We are the first and only 4 Star Grading ITI in Delhi State. Our Policy for Quality Management System is certified by ISO 2001:2008. D. N Lal Sharda Private ITI is only a private institution in Delhi empanelled by South Delhi Municial Corporation for their Staff Training of Assistant Mason Trade. D. N. Lal Sharda Memorial Society (Registered under Society act XXI of 1860) in its endeavor to provide technical and skilled manpower suited to various needs of industry is implementing Craftsmen Training Scheme to impart training in technical and industrial skills through this ITI. D. N. Lal Sharda Memorial Society is an approved Vocational Training Provider under MES-SDI Scheme approved by NCVT under DGT, Ministry of SDE, Govt. of India. We have 292 seats vacant out of 423 seats for the session 2016 -17 in 4 different trades affiliated with National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). Our pass out candidates had been placed in the various Industries including overseas companies. In 2016 final appearing candidates had already got the appointment in various companies.

INTRODUCTION

The Craftsmen Training Scheme was introduced by the Government of India in 1950 to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the domestic industry, to raise quantitatively and qualitatively the industrial production through systematic training, to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by providing them employable training. Salient Features of the Craftsmen Training Scheme:-

� ITIs are functioning under the administrative control of the respective State

Govt./UTs.

� The period of training for various trades varies from one year to two years and

the entry qualification varies from 8th to 12th class pass, depending on the

requirements of

� Admission in different trades.

� These institutes are required to conduct training courses as per the curriculum

prescribed by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). The admission

to the new courses is made in the month of July/August every year.

� The trainees, after completion of the training period are required to appear in

the

� Final Trade Test conducted under the aegies of National Council for Vocational

Training. The successful trainees are awarded National Trade Certificate which

has been recognized by Govt. of India for the purpose of recruitment to

subordinate posts and services under the Central Govt./State

Govt./PSUs/Private Sectors.

� Training in Govt. ITIs is provided at nominal fee with library, sports and medical

facilities etc and NCVT committee has fixed the Tuition Fees for Private ITI.

� Syllabi of various trades are periodically revised to keep pace in tune with

changes in technology.

� Seats are reserved for SC/ST, OBCs, Differently able and women candidates

as per norms.

� There is a provision of re-affiliation for existing affiliated ITIs for more than 5

years old to ensure standards/norms prescribed by N.C.V.T.

� Work of inspection & accreditation of ITIs has been entrusted to the Quality

Council of India w.e.f. 1/9/2012 and applications are submitted online for

opening of new ITIs as well as addition of trades in existing ITIs.

ADMISSION QUALIFICATION

SEMESTER SYSTEM DGE&T has converted structure of examination pattern into semester system in place of annual examination pattern, w.e.f. August, 2013. The courses have been designed to impart basic skills and knowledge in the trades so as to prepare trainee for employment as a semi-skilled worker or for self- employment. As 70% of the training period is allotted to practical training and the rest of the subjects are Trade Theory, Workshop Calculation & Science, Engineering Drawing, and Employable Skills therefore, emphasis is on skill building.

EXAMS UNDER SEMESTER SYSTEM AND ELIGIBLITY TO APPEAR IN EXAMINATION

In semester system the course is divided into semesters of six months each. Only those candidates who have completed the semester with minimum essential attendance would be permitted to appear in examination. The candidate who has insufficient attendance may not be allowed to appear in the ensuing examination and would be treated as per DGE&T norms. However, candidate has to attain 80% cumulative attendance at the end of the course/Semester to appear in the semester examination. Candidates fail for appear or not get the minimum essential marks in Sessional Examination of Quarter I & Quarter II are not eligible to appear in Semester Examination. All candidates have to pay the Examination fee for every Semester Examination as notifies by the institution. Examination Fees will be charged as per no. of Semesters to be appeared in current session. (e.g. if candidates appearing in 2nd Semester examination and also appearing in due/supplementary paper of 1st Semester then they have to pay the double examination fees for both 1st and 2nd Semester. In additional to Semester Examination Fees all candidates has to pay the Internal/Sessional Examination fee two times in a semester for both Quarter 1 & Quarter 2 Sessional Examination.

ABOUT SEMESTER SYSTEM

1. Electrician The course has been designed in order to give in-depth practical and theoretical

knowledge of conventional and emerging areas related to electrical engineering

with emphasis on electronics like Electrical Circuits, Basic Electronics, Wiring

practice, Electrical machines, Measuring technique, Winding practice, Domestic

Appliances & Lighting and Installation service & maintenance of electrical

equipments. On successful completion, one can take employment with Govt. /

Private sectors as well as self employment.

2. Fitter

Fitter is a person who uses machine tools to make or modify parts, primarily

metal parts, and a process known as machining. This is accomplished by using

machine tools to cut away excess material such as a woodcarver cuts away

excess wood to produce his work. The demand of fittings of various nature,

Plumbing, Welding, Black-smithy, Knowledge on various Lathes, drilling

Machines, Sheet Metal Works etc. The fitter Workshops are equipped with

modern and sophisticated Machineries, Equipment & Tools. The precision works

are mainly handled by fitters in the Industries.

3. Draughtsman Civil

The course gives a wide knowledge on construction related manual and CAD

Drawings, Surveying, Materials, Concrete Technology, and Building

Specialization in Construction. One can take gainful employment with

construction Industry, Architectural firms / Designers / PWD etc.

4. Draughtsman Mechanical

The course gives a wide knowledge on machinery related manual and CAD

drawings, Materials, Construction of machine & its materials. One can take

gainful employment with manufacturing Industries of Govt. / Private Sectors.

TRADES INTRODUCTION

According to the AICTE, provision of lateral entry in polytechnics exists only for those Engineering Trades of ITI that have entry qualification of class 10th and are of two years (4 Sem.) duration, However, ITI pass outs of trades for which the entry level qualification for admission to ITI is 8th pass or the duration of ITI trade is less than Two Year shall not be considered for lateral entry. As per guidelines of CET-2016 for admissions in Delhi Polytechnics, the lateral entry of candidates passing out from Industrial Training Institutions located in Delhi & affiliated to NCVT / SCVT is available. These trainees will be eligible for admission in Second Year (Third Semester) of Full-Time Diploma Engineering courses in analogous disciplines against 10% supernumerary seats earmarked for them subject to regulations or guidelines issued by the AICTE or the Government of NCT of Delhi. Eligibility for Lateral Entry to 2nd Year Diploma: 12th Science with Vocational /Technical or 10th + (2 year ITI) with appropriate specialization. Candidates passing 12th Science or 12th Science with Vocational or 12th Science with Technical or 10th + (2 year ITI) with appropriate specialization in that order shall be eligible for admission to second year (Third Semester) Diploma courses of appropriate disciplines.

PROVISION OF LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME FOR

ADMISSION IN DELHI POLYTECHNICS AND B.VOC

Minimum age limit is 14 years for all the candidates as on 01-08-2016. No Upper age limit is prescribed for the candidates seeking admission in ITI.

All the candidates shall be required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner as per Annexure-I at the time of admission.

NOTE: Admission of the candidate shall stand cancelled ab-initio, if any information supplied or document submitted is proved to be false/ fake at any stage even after admission.

Fees can be submitted in monthly installment. Priority will be given to candidates scored 75% or 8.0 CGPA in 10

th Class. Students scoring less CGPA may contact in office for admission and fees if seats are vacant.

Fees can be changed without any prior notice; however no changes will be made after confirmation of admission.

II. Uniform

Trainee shall get two sets of prescribed uniform as approved by D.T.T.E. (HQ) Stitched within 7 days from the date of admission and shall wear the same daily right from his residence till reaching back to the residence.

III. Holidays / Leave admissible to trainees

Trainees are allowed the same Gazetted holidays as decided by Delhi Government for its employees. There will be no summer/winter holidays.

Casual Leave: In addition to usual holidays, trainees are admissible to avail casual leave @ 8 days per year, 6 days at any one time subject to the sanctioning of leave by competent authority. Casual leave can’t be combined with another kind of leave. .

GENERAL RULES & INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

Medical Leave : Medical Leave up to 15 days subject to production of Medical Certificate from a Medical Officer may be granted.

Leave for a further period of not exceeding 6 weeks for Four Semester / Two Year trades course can be granted in case of serious illness. This leave can be granted only once in the training period on recommendations of medical officer acceptable to competent authority.

Special Leave: Special leave up to 10 days on private affairs may be allowed only in extraordinary cases where Head of Institute is satisfied that the requirement is genuine.

Unauthorized Absence: For unauthorized absence up to 10 consecutive days at a time, trainee will be issued a written warning for first occasion. If the offence is repeated, trainee will be discharged from rolls.

Absconders: A trainee who absents himself/herself from training institute for 10 consecutive days without permission and without informing the reasons of his absence is treated as an absconder and trainee will be discharged from rolls.

IV. SUSPENSIONS/ DISCHARGE

(a) Trainees are liable for discharge on account of unsatisfactory progress in training.

(b) For acts of indiscipline and misconduct. (c) If attendance percentage falls below 50%. (d) The pending investigation of allegations against him/her.

V. MINIMUM COMPULSORY ATTENDENCE FOR TRAINEE

(a) In semester system the course is divided into semesters of six months each. (b) Where a trainee absents himself/ herself for more than half the number of days, for whatsoever reasons, he/she would not be allowed to continue his /her training and would be discharged from the rolls.

VI. SCHOLARSHIP TO TRAINEES

The following scholarships are available to eligible Trainees of ITI’s:

Post Matric Scholarship : Scheme for SC & OBC trainees: Only those SC/OBC trainees who possess caste certificate issued by Govt. of NCT of Delhi are eligible under this scheme. Scholarship is available to all SC trainees whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum and all OBC trainees whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1 lakh per annum. In case of OBC parents not more than two children will be entitled for receiving the above said scholarship. The restriction however is not applicable to girl trainees. There is also no such restriction in respect of SC parents. However, the candidate should not be receiving any other scholarship. Dr. Ambedkar & Vocational Technical Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC & Minority trainees: The scholarship is to be disbursed @ Rs. 210 per month for day scholars and Rs. 360 per month for hostellers subject to the condition that their family income is not exceeding Rs. 2 Lac per annum for OBC/Minority trainees. There is no family income ceiling for SC/ST trainees. This scholarship is to be paid to only those trainees who are SC, ST & OBC certificates are issued by Govt. of NCT of Delhi and are not receiving any other scholarship. State Level Skill Competitions: In order to foster a spirit of healthy competition among trainees of the institutes, with a view to raise the standard of skill. All India Skill Competition are held every year, the trainees under the regular Craftsmen Training Scheme only are eligible to compete in the State Level Competition. At present it covers 15 engineering and Non-Engineering Trades. Trainees securing 1st position at State Level Competition are eligible to compete in All India Skill Competition.

All the students admitted to an institution will be under the complete disciplinary control of the Principal of the institute or any other officer(s) appointed by the competent authority for the purpose and must conduct themselves in accordance with the disciplinary rules of institution as framed and notified by the Principal. UNDER THE RULES, FOLLOWING ARE THE FORBIDDEN PRACTICES: a) RAGGING IN ANY FORM IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If any incident of

ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned trainee may be given the opportunity to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution.

b) Disfiguring or otherwise damaging institutional property; c) Smoking in the class room, workshop and laboratory or during field

training; d) Use of drugs or intoxicants except for those prescribed by a registered

medical practitioner and under the knowledge of Principal of the institution;

e) Any form of gambling; f) Rowdism and rude behavior; g) Use of violence in any form; h) Offences of cognizable nature; i) Castism, communalism or practice of un-touchability; j) Use of Mobile Phone in Institution Campus/ Workshop / Class Room, or k) Any other conduct unbecoming of a trainee of the Institution. Any trainee

indulging in any of the forbidden practice may attract any or more of the following disciplinary Measures: - i) Cancellation of the scholarship/stipend (in part or in whole,

temporarily or permanently) in accordance with the rules prescribed in this regard.

ii) Fine; iii) Suspension; iv) Expulsion; or v) Rustication.

The candidates for admission have to give an undertaking that they will abide by the rules and regulations prescribed by the DTTE/ Principal and any action taken in this regard on the trainee by the Principal shall be final.

Common room, steel lockers, water coolers and canteen facilities are provided for the convenience of trainees, wherever possible.

Limited hostel facilities only for boys are available in the Institute. At their full capacity, the hostels can accommodate approximately 50 Trainees belonging to other states on priority.

• Library Facilities All the institutes have been provided with good libraries and the trainees are advised to make full use of them. The books in the libraries are, however, not meant to be substitutes for textbooks, which should be acquired by each trainee.

• Placement Facilities of training during their course of study and placement after completion of the course are arranged to the extent possible by the Training & Placement Cell. Most of the Trainees passing out are assisted by this Cell to secure suitable and satisfactory jobs within a short time after the final Semester trade test and even before the trade test through campus interviews /Job Fair.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Industrial and Field Visits Trainees are exposed to the world of work by arranging industrial and field visits. Presence of trainees during the visits is obligatory.

• Examination A trainee admitted in NCVT designated trade/course will have to undergo a regular training of the trade concerned as per the syllabus laid down by the Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Government of India and shall be eligible to get the N.C.V.T. certificate on passing all semesters examinations as per affiliation status of the institute/trade.

CERTIFICATION ON SUCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING A trainee completing NCVT designated trades and having enrolment on NCVT MIS Portal would receive the Trade certificate from NCVT. For more details about affiliation and other information about institutes visit NCVT MIS Portal www.ncvtmis.gov.in

1. I am liable to be struck off from the roll of Institution without notice in case I remain absent for 10 consecutive days without information / sanction of leave, unsatisfactory progress in the training, short of attendance below 50 %, failing in the aptitude test, Committing breach of discipline in the Institution.

2. I shall get two sets of prescribed uniform stitched and black shoe within seven days from the

day of reporting at admitted institute positively and shall wear the same daily right from my residence & till reaching back to the residence.

3. I shall have no objection in attending Institution as per the existing or changed timing by the

institute as per shift timing. 4. I shall maintain at least 80% attendance in each subject for making me eligible for appearing

in the each examination. 5. If I got admission in any trade running at this ITI, I will not claim for the concessional DTC

Bus Pass facility. 7. I have no objection if I will be transferred to any other Institute due to any administrative

reason whatsoever. 8. I will not carry/use mobile phone in the ITI campus. 9. I hereby declare that I am aware of the law regarding prohibition of ragging as well as the

punishments, and that, if found guilty of the offence of ragging and/or abetting ragging, I am liable to be punished as per guideline issued by the Honorable Supreme Court of India .

10. I will attend the Industrial visit / On-Job Training during the training period at various

Industries at my own risk. In case of any accident, mis-happening or riots. I/We will not held the Institute/Industry responsible for the same.
