Google Drive (20 hour course) Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Basic, Excel Basic and PowerPoint Basic. Google Docs is a free Web-based application in which documents and spreadsheets can be created, edited and stored online. Files can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection and a full-featured Web browser. Users of Google Drive can import, create, edit and update docu-ments and spreadsheets in various fonts and file formats, combining text with formulas, lists, tables and images. Intro to Web Design (40 hours course) Prerequisite: Intro to computers workshop or basic computer knowledge. In today's world, web pages are the most common medium for sharing ideas and information. Learning to design websites is an incredibly useful skill for any career path. Students will learn the languages HTML, CSS, and basic Javascript to create their own live homepages to serve as portfolios of their creations. By the end of this course, students will be able to explain how web pages are developed and viewed on the Internet, analyze and fix errors in existing websites, and create their very own multi page websites.

Bookkeeping and Accounting Intermediate (20 hour course)

Prerequisites: Basic computer knowledge, MS Excel experience and Bookkeeping and Accounting Basic.

In the Intermediate Bookkeeping and Accounting work-shop you will learn how the recording of financial trans-action leads to the management of an organization’s finances. After delving deeper into the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, you will learn the bookkeeping process from start to finish. Upon completion of this workshop students will be able to describe: • intermediate accounting terminology and concepts

Students will develop their social media vocabulary and learn how to build an account. Call Center Training (20 Hours course)

Prerequisites: None.

This course will introduce the different facets of CRM and identify who the customers re-ally are. It will also analyze the key components of CRM and explore how it can be inte-grated within an organization. As with many significant undertakings, undergoing a CRM review (even simply considering its implementation) requires learners to analyze tech-nical and complicated systems. Technical Writing (24 hour course) Prerequisites: None.

Have you ever purchased furniture requiring assembly that contained an overwhelming number

of pieces that fit compactly into a box? If, after unloading all the pieces, including the hardware,

it assembled easily, then you have a good technical writer to thank. If not, you have gained an

appreciation for what good technical writers do, albeit the hard way. Technical writers make our

lives easier through much of the work they do. The most common examples of technical writing

are user manuals, software installation guides, Standard Operating Procedures, Service Level

Agreements, Request for Proposal, legal disclaimers, company documents (memos, reports, poli-

cies, procedures, product information, etc.), annual reports, and help files. Often technical

writing documents contain a lot of complexity. For example, user manuals that come with every-

thing from televisions to washing machines to gaming devices often contain photographs, dis-

claimers, numbered diagrams, sequenced instructions, flow charts, a troubleshooting guide, the

warranty, and contact information for customer support.

Job Search (3 hour course)

Prerequisites: None Psychologists have long said that the #2 most stressful thing in life is going through a ca-reer change, job transition or unemployment. Losing a job is a loss, just like losing a friend or loved one is a loss. Sometimes even our own families and best friends can’t really un-derstand what we’re going through even if they try to. You MIGHT find out in this class that you are spending TOO MUCH time on your job search and not enough time for the things that matter most – your good health, stress management, time management, change management, emotional support and peace of mind. Learn how to search for a job strategically and move from frustration, grief, anger, loss of identity and even shame into a brighter and exciting future with scientifically proven techniques.

Resume Development (2 hour course)

Prerequisites: You must bring a PRINTED HARD COPY of your resume Learn the “do’s and don’ts” of resume writing! If you are confused about your resume be-cause everyone tells you different things about what you should include on it or how to format it, you’ll get the latest, universally accepted resume information and how you can make YOUR resume stand out from your competitors. Most important, learn how to attract the attention of the employer within the first 3-7 seconds they lay eyes on your resume and make them pick up the phone and call you for an interview! Also learn the special Key Words and “Buzz Words” that will get your resume to the top of the stack. After this class you will be able to write your resume at home and show it to a Career Ad-viser for more input and tailoring. IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU MUST BRING A PRINTED HARD COPY of your resume to class. If you don’t have this, YOU MUST print it out BE-FORE class in Room 7 computer lab. Resumes on your phone will not be accepted.

Resume/ LinkedIn Critique (One-on-One)

Prerequisites: None.

If you already have a re-sume that’s effective and you want to make it even better, but you’re not sure how, then maybe all you really need is some advice from our experienced and talented Career Coach, Marky Stein. Bring your resume on a flash drive. If you want to target a spe-cific job posting, bring that too.
