A little history?

• Officially granted charter July 28, 1949 with 5 charter members

• Chapter officially organized September 20, 1949 with 23 members

• Non-profit status as 501c6 in May 2, 1955• Today… over 300 architect members and growing!!• In 1992 the chapter changed the official name from

“Baton Rouge Chapter – American Institute of Architects” to “AIA Baton Rouge” to align with National’s vision of “One AIA”

Local Components have same member designations as State and National!!

and member at time project was completed– Project must have been completed within past five (5) years– Projects may be “resubmitted” as long as they have not previously won

an award in that category
