A little history?

• Officially granted charter July 28, 1949 with 5 charter members

• Chapter officially organized September 20, 1949 with 23 members

• Non-profit status as 501c6 in May 2, 1955• Today… over 300 architect members and growing!!• In 1992 the chapter changed the official name from

“Baton Rouge Chapter – American Institute of Architects” to “AIA Baton Rouge” to align with National’s vision of “One AIA”
